Historia
How can an average climber do the hardest route in the world? Dave MacLeod wasn’t even the best among his fellow rock climbers in Glasgow, until a sequence of key decisions and influences catalysed his progression from an unremarkable intermediate to one of the best all-round climbers in the world. Dave shows that much of his advantage came from easily trainable skills or behavioural traits that could be replicated by any climber.

Insightful reading
Revisado: 01-09-25
The author brings great insights and perspectives not only into ones relationship with climbing, but also with one’s self, and the world around us. He also is a great narrator. I would love to hear more of Dave’s books on Audible.

Historia
Something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.Five years after it began, a handful of scattered survivors remain, including Malorie and her two young children. Living in an abandoned house near the river, Malorie has long dreamed of fleeing to a place where her family might be safe. But the journey ahead will be terrifying: 20 miles downriver in a rowboat blindfolded with nothing to rely on but Malorie's wits and the children's trained ears. One wrong choice and they will die. And something is following them....

should have been a short

Was hoping the Netflix film was based off of something with substance. This book is predicable, at times boring, a lot of the descriptive passages are redundant. It leads you on suspensfully, you hope they're will be a payoff. Disappointing put a bow on it without any reward for the journey ending.

mixed feelings
Revisado: 06-29-16
It's the awaited finish to a fun fantasy trilogy! can't decide if Scott Bricks heavy handed delivery brings it down (he's got a very limited over dramatised way of delivering everything that I'm sure some people like but made this listen exhausting for me). lots of tangents and side stories go into wrapping up the character in this story, and it might have benefited from less explanation. you're not going to be left with any questions at the end of this book.
the ending delivers, but the journey takes too long. if you've read the other Passage books maybe consider dodging this audio performance and sitting down with Cronin's novel.
