Dr Liz narrates her book in a relatable, compassionate tone, both toward parents and teens. She walks the reader through the preconceptions that parents and teens can have that interfere with meaningful communication and provides useful tips for overcoming these obstacles. Using stories from her pediatric practice and from her own experience raising a teen, Dr Liz gives us hope that there is a positive solution to parent/teenager conflict and alienation. A fine book.

Prof Glaude's voice is pitch perfect for this journey back through and now through the cause for racial justice in America. He reminds us of how James Balwin told it and lived it, and struggles to process 45's dystopia while continuing the work. Truthful and gut wrenching.

I just finished listening and can't say enough about how moving this book is. Having followed Maurice as an actor and advocate for a few years now, I was eager for publication of his book. I am isolated at home during the COVID-19 crisis so decided to buy the audio version as a companion for my walks and household activities. Change of plans there, however, because I finished this in one day and now have to buy something else! I started listening at breakfast, kept it on during chores, at lunch, during my walk, only pausing to change devices. It's an emotional journey Maurice takes the reader on, managing: bipolar disease, the highs and lows of a notable acting career, and raising a healthy family while appreciating the singular blessing that is his wife Paula. The story makes you ask yourself: are you honest enough to really face yourself? Are you brave enough to continue the fight when you have no fight left? This book says: if you are, it's worth it. Plus there is Maurice's voice. Amazing. Thank you, Maurice Benard, and God bless.
