Historia
This Dark Road to Mercy is a tale of love and atonement, blood and vengeance, a story that involves two young sisters, a wayward father, and an enemy determined to see him pay for his sins. When their mother dies unexpectedly, twelve-year-old Easter Quillby and her six-year-old sister, Ruby, are shuffled into the foster care system in Gastonia, North Carolina, a little town not far from the Appalachian Mountains. But just as they settle into their new life, their errant father, Wade, an ex-minor-league baseball player whom they haven't seen in years, suddenly reappears and steals them away in the middle of the night.

Another great read/listen by Diana McKinney-Whetstone! Tumbling is by far one of favorite books, however, this one is good as well.

Revisado: 03-13-22
This book is packed with Southern charm, wit, and real life. If you are looking for a storyline full of sappy perfect women this book is not for you.
I truly enjoyed the book and narration. I wish there was a sequel. I would love to see how Diane, Gray and others are doing.

Revisado: 02-23-22
The book started slow but picked up steam. I really enjoyed the character development. The storyline is relatable. Most people know or can relate to one or more of the characters.
I did not want the book to end. I’m really hoping for a part 2.

Worth the time and money
Revisado: 05-27-21
This book was so good I felt like a member of the NCCU family. I listen to a lot of books and this is by far one of the best. The narration, character development and climax were excellent. It’s worth the money and the time. Before you know it you will be chanting “Sooley, Sooley”. You won’t regret it.

Excellent! Don’t let the comments about narration keep you from a great book. The narrator didn’t bother me, however, I understand the negative reviews. I am so glad I ordered the book anyway.
It’s an excellent book. You will not be disappointed.
