Excellent Read

Craig Johnson and George Guidall are two of my favorites. Craig Johnson weaves Native American spiritualism throughout his stories, and George Guidall brings them to life.

Historia
When a summer intern at the Preservation Society discovers an aged document hidden in the binding of an antique book, Society President Nell Pratt is intrigued by the possibilities: Is it a valuable historic document or just a useless scrap of paper? When analysis reveals that it's a hand-drawn map of one of Philadelphia's oldest neighborhoods, Nell learns that the area is being excavated for a new real-estate development and may hold long-buried secrets from the city's historic heyday.

I fell asleep over and over while trying to listen to this book. I think I’ll return it.

Historia
What if there's another side to Donald Trump? A sensitive, poetic side? Driven by this question, Rob Sears began combing The Donald's words for signs of poetry. What he found was a revelation. By simply taking the President's tweets and transcripts, cutting them up, and reordering them, he unearthed a trove of beautiful verse that was just waiting to be discovered.

Not very funny.
Revisado: 04-24-18
I guess one takes a chance when one orders a book that is supposed to be funny.
The authors forward was the funniest part.
The rest of it was just a rehash of many of the ugly lies that our President has tweeted.
And our President is NOT funny. Don’t waste your money on this one.

Her octogenarian employer is bunking with her in a charming Georgetown mansion, and a Smithsonian curator invites her to work on its culinary salute to coffee in America. Clare's new village blend, called DC, is struggling to earn a profit until it attracts a high-profile fan: the college-age daughter of the president. Clare's stock rises as the first lady befriends her, but she soon learns a stark lesson. Washington can be murder.

A little convoluted
Revisado: 10-20-16
The plot had so many twists and turns, I got lost a few times. Also, the way the story was told, looking back from the present to the past just didn't work well for me. I would think I'd heard the whole story and then back we'd go for more plot. Very busy.
I did like the way it ended.
