Historia
The Devil Came on Horseback is an intense, vivid autobiographical report from the heart of violent Darfur and a call to action by a former American Marine who became a military observer for the African Union. The first extensive on-the-ground account of the genocide in Sudan, it leads us through the tragic impact of an Arab government bent on destroying its black African citizens and the frustrating complexity of international inaction.

This should be required reading....
Revisado: 09-24-08
This should be required reading for all American High School students in hopes that they will be better informed of the happenings in the world and less self absorbed as most Americans are today. This book is a real eye opener and causes great frustration when we see that still, today, we have not helped in Darfur. We have been too busy interfering in Iraq where we were not invited while the people in Darfur are begging for help. But then.....after all, they have no oil and are black.

Historia
This tale about the upbringing of a half-Native American boy has sparked much debate over whether or not it is fact or fiction as well as over the author's motivations for writing it. Nevertheless, The Education of Little Tree remains one of this century's most beloved stories. It recounts, in autobiographical form, the story of a boy, Forrest, who was orphaned at the age of 5 and left to be raised by his Cherokee grandparents. The grandparents gave him the Indian name of Little Tree, and provided him with a rich and inspiring education. This wise and beautiful tale unfolds with a unique blend of American simplicity and spiritual profundity, and, whatever its origin, it leaves a profound, lasting impression on the listener.

Heartwarming tale
Revisado: 11-06-07
Although there might be some controversy regarding the authenticity of this story as a true account, it is, never-the-less, a heartwarming story. It was a favorite of mine and of my children many, many years ago. I have given copies of the book to many families. I was delighted with how the reader made the story come alive but was disappointed that it was an abridged version, which is the only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating. There were other very wonderful chapters that would have made it more complete, my favorite being, "Trading with a Christian". I hope someday those that brought about this audiobook will consider doing an unabridged version and that I will know about it so I can get it.
