Historia
In the summer of 1976, recently widowed and childless, Ora Lee Beckworth hires a homeless old black man to mow her lawn. The neighborhood children call him the Pee-can Man; their mothers call them inside whenever he appears. When the police chief's son is found stabbed to death near his camp, the man Ora knows as Eddie is arrested and charged with murder. Twenty-five years later, Ora sets out to tell the truth about the Pecan Man.

The pace and the depth are amazing
Revisado: 10-07-24
The honesty and delicacy of the development of the characters who came alive. I connected with myself in my earlier years when I was becoming aware of my own life and the ways I could not escape the privileges and attitudes I was still living in.
The author was a master, and I hope to read or listen to more.

Historia
"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

A direct call to action not agreement
Revisado: 08-11-24
The depth of purpose and personal experience that has led her to explore, share and clarify these extremely important human ways of being and how we are being disconnected from others and ourselves has shaken me.
Her call to action moves me beyond what I even expected. I respect her directness, and I am glad I listened to her voice and her words speaking with urgency.

Being Present is a lifelong journey
Revisado: 09-11-21
I have a lot more compassion and patience with myself as I am sitting in silence. This multi layered recording has brought me to a core of my being I’ve not touched for a long time. No words can express my awareness right now. I am grateful, deeply grateful.
