Historia
Deep is a voyage from the ocean's surface to its darkest trenches, the most mysterious places on Earth. Fascinated by the sport of freediving - in which competitors descend to great depths on a single breath - James Nestor embeds with a gang of oceangoing extreme athletes and renegade researchers. He finds whales that communicate with other whales hundreds of miles away, sharks that swim in unerringly straight lines through pitch-black waters, and other strange phenomena.

Historia
The Big Island National Park has been declared an International Biosphere Reserve and is a World Heritage Site. The constant volcanic activities offer the opportunity to feel and discover the primal power of the earth. Many trails are available to visitors and friendly rangers are happy to provide information. The different vegetation zones offer nature the opportunity to create their own ecosystems. While the rainforest is lush in the northeast, a savannah-like landscape emerged in the south. The gray, inhospitable zone of the South Rift Zone is in stark contrast.

Dumbest book ever
Revisado: 01-28-23
This is nothing more than a boring pamphlet with music in the background. After every sentence there is a musical interlude. al least half the book is just background music. It is extremely boring. I can't believe they expect people to pay to listen to it. Don't waste your time and money on this book.

Historia
The legendary annihilation in 1883 of the volcano-island of Krakatoa - the name has since become a byword for a cataclysmic disaster - was followed by an immense tsunami that killed nearly 40,000 people. Beyond the purely physical horrors of an event that has only very recently been properly understood, the eruption changed the world in more ways than could possibly be imagined. Dust swirled round die planet for years, causing temperatures to plummet and sunsets to turn vivid with lurid and unsettling displays of light.

It was OK. I think it would be a better read.

This book just didn't float my boat. I have a degree in Geology, but I just didn't enjoy this as an audible. Maybe I could follow it better if I read the book and not as and audible.

Historia
Meet the Wolf. Joe Wolf. He’s the head of a multibillion-dollar empire—a newspaper, a holding company, a football team—and the head of a family that puts King Lear to shame. His empire shows signs of crumbling when he’s approached with an “offer” to sell. It’s clear from the start that Joe is going to pay the ultimate price—and maybe more—if he refuses.

Didn't get my attention. I found it rather dull and so I'm not going to listen to the rest of the series.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Good info, but brutal language. I understand it's right in the title, it was not enjoyable to listen to it constantly.

Historia
United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Way too much useless dialog
Revisado: 09-25-22
I don't know of a book that I have ever read that had so much padding of useless, frustrating, monotonous, dialog. Skippy and Bishop are still in Jr High. The are not capable of learning how to discuss anything. It goes from one absolutely impossible situation to another and then the same pattern follows. Skippy says it's impossible, Bishop does some trivial thing and presto, he has an idea that overcomes all problems. I don't know if I can deal with another volume of such stupid dialog. I like the story, just not of the word padding to make it a book. Most of this book could have been a pamphlet just fine. I would have liked it more as a pamphlet. Finally, although Bishops time underwater addressed the nitrogen problem, the author obviously did not know that pure oxygen below 10 meters is very toxic to the central nervous system and he would have gone into convulsions and died very quickly at the depths described. Even regular air is toxic at about 190 feet. He would have been dead before Adams pushed Skippy for a rescue.

Historia
In the tradition of Shadow Divers, the story of the courageous men who dived on the last sunken U-Boat off the Eastern Seaboard. On April 16, 1944, the tanker SS Pan Pennsylvania was torpedoed and sunk by the U-550. In return the sub was sent to the bottom by three destroyer escorts that were guarding the convoy. For more than 60 years the location of the U-boat's wreck eluded divers. In 2012 a team found it.

Revisado: 04-20-22
I didn't care for the voice, especially in the beginning. Too much unnecessary info in the beginning, too little info about the diving.

I expected something different from the title. I enjoyed it but if I knew there was that much swearing I would have passed.
