This story is as relevant now as when it was written.
Audio performance was excellent and it was hard to stop listening because both the content & performance was so well done.

Like watching an action packed film but for my ears
Revisado: 03-26-24
It’s so hard to find quality books to hand my daughter these days that keep the content PG 13 (see spoiler) just focus on a great story line. This was a winner for sure!
**spoiler warning**
There is a moment where one of the characters is coached to act as if someone was trying to molest her. It is not descriptive and doesn’t actually happen. It makes sense to the storyline.

Description is Wrong- but it was a happy surprise
Revisado: 03-22-24
I found this book when looking for other books performed by the narrator after listening to A Place to Hang the Moon.
I wouldn’t have chosen a “Brontë” book but I was excited for this Emily Dickinson book.
To my surprise it wasn’t Dickinson but Brontë and I rather enjoyed it! It actually made me want to go read some of their actual work (Jane Eyre wasn’t a favorite of mine.) AND now I really want to read this author’s actual “Emily Dickinson” book.

So when Briddey Flannigan's fiancé proposes that he and Briddey undergo the procedure, she is delighted! Only, the results aren't quite as expected. Instead of gaining an increased empathetic link with her fiancé, Briddey finds herself hearing the actual thoughts of one of the nerdiest techs in her office. And that's the least of her problems.

Clever amusing and great pace
Revisado: 01-23-24
I wish the language was PG13 like the rest of the store but the 4 letter words fit in just the right pace. I’d like to have read this with my eyes but the Aunts Voice as performs here was too fun to have missed it.

Not just for children
Revisado: 11-03-23
I listed to this book before sharing with my kids and it should be heard by any 10+ and maybe even a listen again at different ages. (The things we see as a parent are different as a child.)
This should be required reading in schools, history that should not be forgotten.
Performance was spot on. The pace was slow and steady but felt right for the store and like I was hearing Esther herself tell it as a young girl.

Yes, THM has helped transform hundreds of thousands of lives. And don’t get us wrong. We believe it will stand the test of time as it leaves no food group out, is sensible, safe, and doable for the long term, and we’re in it for life as so many of you are. But all the information, the helps, the cookbooks, the videos, the app, the member sites, the FB groups…everything we could think up to help has honestly never been enough.

What happens if your words are stolen?!
Revisado: 04-27-23
It was enjoyable, funny and a good moral lesson too. “Don’t be careless with your words because they are important.”
We (15, 12 & 10 year old) even were able to have a nice chat about redundancy in writing something my 12 year old is working on editing in English and something my teen will have a chance to avoid more as he is writing more papers…especially as he heads into “word count required” papers.
I only wish there had been two narrators for the audiobook, one for each POV the chapters toggled between. That would have made it a 5 star performance.
