Historia
Geneticists like David Reich have made astounding advances in the field of genomics, which is proving to be as important as archaeology, linguistics, and written records as a means to understand our ancestry. In Who We Are and How We Got Here, Reich allows listeners to discover how the human genome provides not only all the information a human embryo needs to develop but also the hidden story of our species.

Fascinating but ...
Revisado: 05-28-23
Very technical and difficult to follow in this format. I'd have found it easier to understand by reading the book. Other's experiences may vary. This is very scientific work and any previous reviews lamenting references to politics, racism, sexism, etc seem to have listened to a different book or have some kind of hair-trigger response to words without comprehending science or actual meaning.

Historia
The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

Unexpected Gem
Revisado: 05-24-23
What a wonderful surprise. This carefully crafted collection of stories holds together a thoughtful and intriguing theme. And this narrator is absolutely fabulous with his uncanny ability to recreate various accents and voices, and keep them all straight within layers of dialogue. What a pleasure to listen to. Encore!

Just how did the ancient Hawaiians sail thousands of miles of open ocean without modern methods, without getting lost, and somehow finding new islands? How did such a rich culture even come to exist on perhaps the most isolated archipelago in the world? And is the nickname of a “beach island paradise” an accurate description of the various kinds of beautiful, intriguing, and sometimes even dangerous topographies and natural phenomena that make up Hawai'i? Learn the true answers to all these questions and much more in this audiobook of the history of Hawai'i.

Great Overview
Revisado: 05-21-23
This is a really good overview of Hawaiian history and culture. I disagree with the previous reviewer in that I thought the Hawaiian viewpoint was well represented. There is an in-depth explanation on the various pronouncuatilns of Hawai'i was made.

A refreshing take on a well worn genre
Revisado: 01-20-23
It is so nice to read a fantasy novel where the main character isn’t a teenager. Set in the modern world with just the right amount of changes to real history and daily life to be believable but not make it feel foreign. A book written about adults, seemingly for adults. The author is not afraid to go to places and discuss mature topics that would almost never be in a fantasy novel, except in excess. A great change from the extremes of fantasy geared either to children or to HBO. The right balance for me.

Wrong translation
Revisado: 08-02-21
This is the horrid British translation that deviates a great deal from the original. If you have read any other Verne it will be immediately apparent.
