I finally own the Audible Verison

I have the entire series in paperback for over 20 years. Listening to it on Audible instead of reading it made realize I missed a lot of stuff while reading it. While not my favorite book in the series, I did enjoy it. It had a great mix of romance, tragedy, and adventure and it's a great lead in for Book 2, Storm Winds, which is my favorite of the series. I've read that book more times than the others.

More Kerris Less Zara

I found that as the book continued, I wanted to read more about Kerris's story than Zara's. It was only because I wanted to know more about Zarina, Lara, Aren, and Sara. The other characters.....Not so much. This entire series would make a good Netflix movie series.

Amazon Prime or Netflix needs to Make a miniseries

I don't listen to a lot of YA books, but I like vampire books. I'd like to see this one in action. I normally don't listen or read books twice or three times unless I like it. I'm not sure if I want a sequel to this book, but if Holly Black does make one, I'll be there.

The Performance was Good

I'm giving this an overall rating of 2 just for the performance. I had to fast forward a lot of this because the story was just dragging on. Think of the movie Rebecca or Gaslight. The story was confusing and ending as disappointing. Not the twist I was expecting.
