Historia
The site of the old campus bungalow where two girls were brutally slain is now a flower patch covered with chrysanthemums. It's been 50 years since the Immaculate Conception Murders. Three more students and a teacher were killed in a sickening spree that many have forgotten. But there is one person who knows every twisted detail... Hannah O'Rourke and her volatile half-sister, Eden, have little in common except a parent. Yet they've ended up at the same small college outside Chicago, sharing a bungalow with another girl.

Good book, bad narrator
Revisado: 07-17-24
The narrator’s voice on this audiobook was so dreamy, sleepy, and odd that I could barely continue to listen to it. It says a lot about the book that I hung in there. However, when it was announced that the book was finished, I was relieved. I am usually wishing the books were longer, but not this time!

Historia
The Latecomer follows the story of the wealthy, New York City-based Oppenheimer family, from the first meeting of parents Salo and Johanna, under tragic circumstances, to their triplets born during the early days of IVF. As children, the three siblings—Harrison, Lewyn, and Sally—feel no strong familial bond and cannot wait to go their separate ways, even as their father becomes more distanced and their mother more desperate. When the triplets leave for college, Johanna, faced with being truly alone, makes the decision to have a fourth child.

You must read this book!
Revisado: 11-17-22
This is possibly the best book I have ever read! It kept me engaged the entire 11+ hours that I was listening to it. Very well drawn characters, and an excellent command of the English language on the part of the author. I wish that I could listen to it longer! It ended too soon for me.

Another wonderful book from this author that caused me to do belly laughs on a regular basis. The story was fun and what more could you ask?

Confusing and didn’t hold my interest
Revisado: 04-01-21
For me, the person that can read the back of a cereal box and enjoy it, this book was really a disappointment. After listening to almost the entire book, I realized I really didn’t care what happened in the end, which is pretty much why you read any book. Sorry, but this one needed more work.
