Historia
Marie Sklodowska, 25, is studying science at the Sorbonne—one of the only universities in the world that has begun to admit women. She’s certain that to succeed in a man’s world, she will have to go it alone.

I felt like we were just getting into her life when suddenly it ended. There was nothing but a few references about her career as a scientist, the story tells about the trials getting into university, meeting P. Curie and just stops - I thought the book failed to download completely the story so abruptly ends. Most unsatisfying.

After all, she’s a modern woman - she’ll take her chances on the algorithms of online dating to find her ideal man. Before long, she meets a man who might just be the one - he’s hilarious, quick-witted, and full of heart. And when she meets up with Cameron in real life, he certainly looks exactly like his profile picture...but something’s not quite right.

This was a cute, fast paced, Rom-Com. The characters were charming and the story moved along without getting bogged down in extraneous details or asides.

Maybe it was those extra five pounds I’d gained. Maybe it was because I was about to turn the same age my mother was when I lost her. Maybe it was because after almost twenty years of marriage my husband and I seemed to be running out of things to say to each other. But when the anonymous online study called “Marriage in the 21st Century” showed up in my inbox, I had no idea how profoundly it would change my life.

Beware online Questionnaires
Revisado: 12-22-18
I thought the story was witty and profound. I believe everyone can relate to the characters and aspects of their courtship and marriage. This was an interesting concept and I would have liked the story infinitely more if the entire email address of Wife 22 & Researcher 101 wasn't read in it's entirety every few minutes. I think the book would have been done in 8 hours instead of 12. The constant email issue is what brought down my story rating - I found it tedious and my mind would start to drift to other things instead of staying with the story. The narrator did a really good job all things considered.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

Urban Fantasy
Revisado: 12-22-18
This was a fun story. At first I didn't care for Tori - she seemed over the top aggressive. But once she had her "guy squad", she seemed to settle down and actually become likable. Her not having any hidden magical abilities added to the story - how a normal can survive being surrounded by magical folks and their issues makes for a really interesting story. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

Typical Regency
Revisado: 12-22-18
Although I liked our hero Lord Alaric Wilde, it took awhile before I cared for our heroin Willa. The story is witty and charming for the most part, but becomes somewhat predictable the last third of the book. I found the cadence of the narrator somewhat distracting.

Historia
Kidnapped while on tour, musician Sidonie Martel is transported to the mystical land of Avalon. A human without magical ability, she is completely vulnerable to the deadly forces surrounding her. When she defies her captors and refuses to share her music, an act of violent cruelty leaves her broken, her ability to play silenced, maybe forever. Her only hope is a whisper in the dark, gentle hands that offer healing, and a man who refuses to show her his face yet who offers advice she dare not ignore.

Book 2 of 3
Revisado: 12-22-18
I've especially enjoyed this series because each book has had its own story within the ongoing battle between the light & dark fae courts. It does need to be listened to in order. This story tells us more about the evolution of Merlin's relationship with the light court. It does not begin as a romance but as an action story that builds on characters and deeds from book 1, Moonshadow. The characters are strong and complicated and the story steadily builds up to it's conclusion. The narrator does an excellent job.

Light vs Dark, Book 1 of 3
Revisado: 12-22-18
When the witch Sophie inherits a manor in England that has been built over a way point into the dark fae realm, her meeting with 3 dark fae knights draws her into the ongoing battle between the light and dark courts. Our hero Nikolas is tall, dark & handsome. He's also a powerful (physically & magically) chauvinist who our Sophie (who's no slouch in the magical department) must constantly butt heads with. Their relationship is witty, romantic and fraught with danger from supernatural forces on both sides of the way point. The story is riveting from start to finish and the narrator does an outstanding job. I've recommended this series to several friends

Final book of the series
Revisado: 12-22-18
This book deals with Oberon and Dr. Kathryn Shaw (introduced in book 1). I have especially enjoyed this series because each book has had it's own story within the on going battle between the light & dark fae. The hero is powerful & brooding and the heroin is a strong female in her own right. The story is one you don't want to pause - I chose it for a cross country drive and was engaged by the story and performance from start to finish. There's action, romance and humor with an outstanding performance by the narrator worthy of the excellent story.

When her father gambles away his fortune, the duke's only chance for recouping his losses lies in marrying off Lady Helen to any man wealthy enough to take a bride with nothing to recommend her but a lovely face and an 800-year-old pedigree.

Sow's ear meets Silk purse - love ensues
Revisado: 12-22-18
A wonderfully performed story where our hero isn't dashing or daring, but "simply" a very good man. Although the lady isn't a shrew, she walks a fine line. I enjoyed this story because both characters are, at heart, very decent people who end up having a positive effect on each other. The story is interesting and well paced and the narrator does an exceptional job.
