Specialized Nature Vignettes
Revisado: 03-03-23
For those interested in the tiny gears that keep nature turning, this book will give you some enjoyment. There are stories about eels, cockroaches, moles, wasps and more. The details are sharp, but also light and humorous.
The narrator was professional, yet somehow I’m not sure that he struck the right scientific tone. Still I enjoyed it.

Shooting Midnight Cowboy is not only the definitive account of the film that unleashed a new wave of innovation in American cinema but also the story of a country (and an industry) beginning to break free from decades of cultural and sexual repression.

Entertaining and Informative
Revisado: 12-01-22
Excellent book and Audible performance that will take us Boomers back to a different era. A number of people came together in mostly energetic and creative phases of their lives to give us the disturbing classic. And NYC is a key character in the film and the book. It was a hungry, gritty and dangerous place in the 60s and Midnight Cowboy portrayed it in a way that scared off potential visitors from the Midwest. The scene of the man laying motionless on the street as people went about their business has been told and retold as fact. I found the theme about the collaboration between Herlihy and Schlesinger to be most enlightening.
