contradictory and hypocritical
Revisado: 02-15-22
in just the preface alone she admits that these are the opinions of sone not everyone, then she goes on to berate anyone who doesn't agree with her and call them a racist.
anyone actually in these fields or used to reading historical it social commentary will see in just the begging how little this has to do with actual history and how much it has to do with painting a narrative regardless of anything else.
that narrative is that America is nothing but racist and all things are racist and all white people are racist, and black people are the real creators and leaders of America, while also being the only victims.
when you go looking for devil's everywhere you will find them, sums up this racist grifter to the fullest

Historia
Back in 2005, the first edition of Why Gender Matters broke ground in illuminating the differences between boys and girls—how they perceive the world differently, how they learn differently, how they process emotions and take risks differently. Dr. Sax argued that in failing to recognize these hardwired differences between boys and girls, we ended up reinforcing damaging stereotypes, medicalizing misbehavior, and failing to help kids to reach their full potential.

lots of references and proof to back up claims
Revisado: 09-03-21
he claims gender matters, and provides all sorts of scientific studies and references showing that, as well a debunking several of the common flawed statements as to why it doesn't.
very gay affirming, but will be hated by trans supporters who only care about feelings

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Historia
It is an axiom of American life that advantage should be earned through ability and effort. Even as the country divides itself at every turn, the meritocratic ideal - that social and economic rewards should follow achievement rather than breeding - reigns supreme. Both Democrats and Republicans insistently repeat meritocratic notions. Meritocracy cuts to the heart of who we are. It sustains the American dream.

a lot of information but a slog
Revisado: 05-21-21
I enjoyed it but it can come off as repeating different examples of the same thing for 10 hours. however it gives a lot of information to think about and apart from the last bit is pretty unpolitically focused.
my biggest concern is how the entire problem and solution he talks about seems to completly ignore the poor and solely focus on the middle class vs the rich.

Historia
The year is 2050. The power of magic and the creatures it brings have returned to the earth, and many of the ancient races have re-emerged. Elves, Orks, Mages, and lethal Dragons find a home in a world where mana, technology, and human flesh have melded into deadly urban predators. And the multinational mega-corporations that run the world hoard the only thing of real value - information. For Sam Verner, living in the womb of the Renraku conglomerate was easy, until his sister disappeared and the façade of the corporate reality began to disintegrate.

Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Dr. Gad Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic firsthand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society.

ok, until the last 2 hours
Revisado: 03-05-21
it's a decent book on what it says it is. he explains his ideas and lays out why he thinks them.
but the last 2 hours is just his ranting about how evil the Muslim religion is. reminds me of the lucifer principle.
both are good books, if you can look past the occasional hyper focus on islam.
