Historia
Having escaped an unhappy marriage, Morgan finds herself in Camelot–the city of dreams and peace. Her brother, King Arthur, treats her as a valued advisor and Morgan finally has recognition befitting her intelligence within Arthur’s trusted circle, despite a longstanding conflict with Queen Guinevere. But Morgan’s life is not without complications. Between a vengeful husband determined to snatch their son away, the strict ideals of court life, and a jealous rival for Arthur’s attentions in the sorcerer Merlin, gaining true recognition and freedom is a greater challenge than Morgan envisioned.

Entrancing and beautiful
Revisado: 07-20-24
A beloved title character who we want to win so badly vs a patriarchal and unkind world. An undeniable love story, brutal grief, and the seductive power of magic intertwine in this captivating sequel. The journey of Morgan in Keetch’s second novel of the series was so worth the wait.

Riveting and so timely
Revisado: 04-16-24
A science fiction masterpiece that is eerily relevant to the post Covid, pre environmental collapse era. How did Octavia Butler know so much about the future that is our present? Brilliantly read by Robin Miles. Warning: novel contains depictions of sexual violence.

Amazing and exciting story about power, freedom, and social connections. Beautifully performed by Robin Miles, and incredibly multi faceted reader. Very satisfying conclusion to the story of Doro and his children.

Historia
This is the way the world ends, for the last time. The season of endings grows darker, as civilization fades into the long cold night. Essun - once Damaya, once Syenite, now avenger - has found shelter, but not her daughter. Instead there is Alabaster Tenring, destroyer of the world, with a request. But if Essun does what he asks, it would seal the fate of the Stillness forever. Far away, her daughter Nassun is growing in power - and her choices will break the world.

Revisado: 12-10-22
Loved this feminist twist on the well known story. Suspenseful storytelling and appealing characters kept me wanting to hear more. Enticing from the beginning, Vanessa Kirby’s lively and colorful performance brought the tale to life. Can’t wait for the sequel and would love to see it as a film someday, fingers crossed!

Great audio course in developing empathy, avoiding burnout
Revisado: 05-15-22
This is a lovely and healing book, which I find very helpful as an empath, teacher of young children, and healing facilitator. Beware that this is a condensed and efficient course and not the full text of the printed book. It’s broken into nice hour-ish pieces and includes exercises to practice boundaries and emotional regulation.
