Augusten Burroughs wrote a fantastic story. his sarcasm and wit enters the memoir at all of the right parts, keeping you from crying at times. he describes his inner conflict and the struggles of being sober so well, it's uncanny to how I felt going through similarly rough times. it took about a half an hour to get used to his voice, the narration was almost shocking at first in comparison to the traditional soothing voice of audio book narrators, but after that half hour it made the memoir feel more real and genuine. fantastic!

better than the second in the series. the first one was better, more plausible, however the sexual conduct and misconduct in this series has began to feel repetitive and irritating. the ending was a bit lack luster, but I understand that it'd be difficult to conclude such a dramatic series with something as fulfilling and mind blowing as the rest of the story. this series is honestly very similar to a series of unfortunate events, but for adults.

I felt like a few explanations of how nefarious events happened or were escaped from were too imaginary and a bit of a cop out. still enjoyed it. the first one was better, more plausible, however the sexual conduct and misconduct in this series has began to feel repetitive and irritating. this series is honestly very similar to a series of unfortunate events, but for adults.

classic short science fiction, has a lot of reread-ability! the performance was pretty good, kate rudd's voice sometimes became a bit lifeless though.
