Arrogant. Scornful. Full of pride. Darnuir, prince of dragons, cares nothing for the damage he's doing to the faltering alliance against the Shadow. He thinks himself invincible - right up till a mortal wound forces him to undergo a dangerous rebirthing spell, leaving him a helpless babe in human hands.

Not bad, not great
Revisado: 02-24-25
This felt very average to me I did not really ever get into it or care overly much for any of the characters or what happened to them. Others apparently like it from the overall reviews. I did get this on sale so maybe wait for that to buy it. For the $6 or $7 that it cost it was fine. The narrator is good and made it better than I think it would have otherwise been.
Should have been one book not three and cut out all the blather about nothing. Expanded what might have been one good novel into three average or boring ones due to a plethora of uninteresting discussions, uninteresting narrative, and very slow pace stretched over three separate novels that all suffer from the same problem.

Historia
A ship full of colonists arrive on a seemingly hospitable planet, only to discover that it harbors a terrifying secret. Soon the settlers find themselves caught up in a desperate battle for survival against the fae, a natural force with the power to prey upon the human mind itself, bringing a person’s greatest fears and darkest nightmares to life. As Colony Commander Leon Case and Chief Medic Lise Perez struggle to find a way to control the fae before more people die, other settlers have ideas of their own…and they may prove more of a threat to colony than the fae itself.

A nice beginning
Revisado: 01-18-25
If you have read the trilogy and liked it you will likely enjoy this beginning story that expands on the initial colony of people on the planet that is touched upon briefly in the trilogy. If you have not listened to the trilogy yet this will likely be less enjoyable. Please go to those first then come back to this. While good, not as great as the original trilogy of books.
This also has the novella "Dominion" that features the introduction of Gerald Tarrant. If you get this one you shouldn't also buy "Dominion" as you will already own it with this audiobook. It's the final two hours of this one.

Great intro to the series
Revisado: 01-15-25
A short story that introduces Gerald Tarrant who is a main character in the main three book series. Enjoyable story and great narration. If you've read or listened to the series and enjoyed it then you would very likely enjoy this as well.

Revisado: 01-08-25
This continuation of the story is another great entry in the trilogy. Great performance by narrator. I have enjoyed quite a few of the books this author has written. This series is the best of them.

Unbenounced to Dilvish, Jelerak is also seeking to gain entrance to his own castle as his apprentice has blocked him out while attempting to lean the castles secrets so that he may become lord of Castle Timeless. The castle is protected by a lethal, chaotic, ever-changing land. In a race against time and reality itself both Dilvish and Jelerak must survive the maze-like changing lands.

Good conclusion novel with Dilvish
Revisado: 01-01-25
A full novel of Dilvish this time instead of the short story collection with Dilvish in "Dilvish the Damned". While not as good as other Zelazny books I've read, this is still enjoyable and part of the ending I did not see coming whereas most of the rest of the book progresses as one would expect..

While this is a collection of stories they are loosely linked together and they all have Dilvish as the main character. Not Zelazny's best, but still enjoyable.

Historia
He has been known by countless names and terrifying deeds throughout the lands of mankind - thief, magic wielder, swordsman, assassin, adventurer. But chief among those names and perhaps the most dangerous of his personae is that of Nightfall, a man - or perhaps the legendary demon himself - gifted with unique powers which any sorcerer would kill to possess. Yet though Nightfall has always escaped his pursuers by moving on to new realms, new identities, and new enterprises, even the cleverest of beings must occasionally slip.

Legendary story read by legendary narrator
Revisado: 01-01-25
Andy Serkis is the best narrator I have heard in a long time. He does an amazing job of voicing the characters in this story including gollum as he played him in the movie so he does the same voice for him in the audiobook. It's brilliant.
A classic story and great narration by Serkis.
