Historia
In this must-listen book for anyone striving to succeed, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows parents, educators, students, and businesspeople - both seasoned and new - that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a focused persistence called "grit". Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

Not another self help book
Revisado: 07-21-16
Grit is truly an excellent book. It debunks the myth of talent while keeping its feet firmly planted in reality. It is definitely the most hopeful and encouraging books I've come across in a long time. Yet it is by no means fluff or "Chicken Soup for the Soul (or Brain". It calls for fearlessly seeking your passions and the committing to our calling over the long haul.

Historia
Evangelical Christianity is a paradox. Evangelicals are radically individualist, but devoted to community and family. They believe in the transformative power of a personal relationship with God, but are wary of religious enthusiasm. They are deeply skeptical of secular reason, but eager to find scientific proof that the Bible is true. In this groundbreaking history of modern American evangelicalism, Molly Worthen argues that these contradictions are the products of a crisis of authority that lies at the heart of the faith.

Interesting history of Evangelicalism in the 20th Century
Revisado: 05-27-16
A through and relatively engaging look at the history and intellectual influences of the Evangelical church. Now the most engaging topic but for those who lead in the church this is a book worth reading.
