Historia
The only thing I’ve ever wanted was to forget what happened that night so I could move on with my life. An impossible feat, considering the demons of the past refuse to let me go. Jumping head-first into the unknown seems like a good place to start. So I move out of my childhood home and away from the pain lurking around every corner. It would have been a great start if not for my new next-door neighbor, who slightly resembles a Yeti. His attitude does little to convince me he’s not.

Narrated by Jason Clarke and Angelina Rocca.
This is what I would classify as a #traumance
Both characters have painful pasts (check TWs for SA, but there’s lots more). FMC Alicia is scared of physical contact and living on her own for the first time. She just so happens to move in next door to MMC Mark, a big ol’ beefy firefighter who has bad a rough go of it himself and a hero complex. Yes, please.
Tropes:
✔️Small-town
✔️Stangers to lovers
✔️Slow burn
Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators so as the saying goes, if he’s narrating it, I’m listening. His voice can get me to overlook details in books I may have otherwise been side-eyeing because he’s just that good. Angelina Rocca is another fabulous narrator and together they really brought the emotional aspects of this story to life. I binged this book in one sitting, staying up til 3am to finish, and I rarely do that. This is all due to Clarke and Rocca.
Was this book perfectly written with completely flushed out characters and no hint of *magical dick syndrome*? 🤔 If I’m being honest, no, but sometimes I am just here for the vibes and the Broken Souls audio came through with the vibes. If traumance is your vibe, of course!

You don't mess around with a teammates ex. Ever. But that's easier said than done when it comes to Blair Carmichael. She's sexy, intelligent, gorgeous, and one hundred percent off-limits. And I've never fallen harder. But I can't touch (when I most definitely want to). My teams success and my chance at a new contract for next season depend on me keeping my hands on the wheel. And off her curves.

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘐 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥:
•Holy crap, the narration was excellent!! Stella Hunter did a phenomenal job as Blair. I’m not sure this character would have been as likable without Stella’s influence! Stella handled accents and a male POV with ease. Gary Furlong as Lachlan was a perfect choice!! In a world of male narrators, he’s a consistent gem of a voice actor.
•Essentially, Blair and Lachlan are friends to lovers (my fav) so the development of their relationship was sweet swoony perfection. I loved all the ‘getting to know you’ scenes especially in the beginning. Lachlan said all the right things and FFS, he bought her a book bouquet. Just RIP me.
•Formula 1 race car driving - heck yes!
•A career driven FMC.
𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘐 𝘋𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦:
•Blair and Lachlan become friends at a time when she is starting to realize that her 10+ year relationship with driver Oliver Rossi has run its course. Oliver is legit 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘵, but I do think this will toe the line of emotional cheating for some readers. •Rossi is so horrible to Blair and for the vast majority of the book, Blair just takes it and romanticizes their history together. This was frustrating.
•Lachlan spent a lot of time in the beginning of the book saying all the things he would do if Blair was his girl, but when push comes to shove, did he though? 🤔 I’m not sure. Rossi is getting his own book in August, and I will definitely be reading it because I NEED to know how the author redeems him. At this point, I don’t like the guy at all so I’m super curious about how the author will turn him into book boyfriend material.

I really enjoyed the romance between the main characters Troy and Dahlia. Troy if my favorite kind of hero. He’s a little broken, grumpy and possessive. I honestly didn’t find Dahlia to be that interesting of a character. She seemed sort of one dimensional with the sunshine aspect of her personality being her only character trait. That said, Troy and Dahlia had hot chemistry and good banter. Their connection was my favorite part of the book
Pulse had an element of suspense to the storyline that was just okay. It somehow was both underwhelming and over the top.
As for the narration, CJ Bloom as Daliah did an amazing job, but she always does. She’s one of my favorite narrators. One thing I really like about her is the way she does the male voice. She is able to up the swoon factor in a major way.. Connor Brown played Troy and that performance was just OK for me. I felt like he was talking really fast at some parts and his pace didn’t really match well to CJs.
Overall, not a bad listen, but not my favorite Adriana Locke book.

Historia
Jules van der Meer... He's somebody I shouldn't want, someone I can't have. The forbidden fruit. The desire not to be indulged in. He's wealthy, successful, important... everything I'm not. I'm half his age. Immature and desperate. It's what they all say—the men in the night with the fancy clothes and the shiny cars, with enough money to make me do whatever they please. But him... well, he looks at me like I'm the answer to his prayers, a diamond in the rough. He doesn't realize how wrong he is, though.

Oh man, this book!!! If Ashley James was looking to kill me with Bodhi and Jules love story, she damn near came close. The personal struggles both characters went through were written so authentically. I could relate to so much of what Bodhi went through. Teddy Hamilton and Liam DiCosimo - deliver a performance of this story that was beautiful. I definitely recommend giving this one a listen. I even bought a physical copy for my trophy shelf!

Historia
I’m falling for the father of the baby I’m carrying. The problem is: it’s not my baby. And the broody widower is not looking for a long-term partner. As a surrogate, the deal was that I’d only be in England long enough to give birth. At first, the man seemed as pretentious as his name: Sigmund Benedictus. He and I butted heads. Sig challenged my intentions, accused me of just wanting to do this for the money. Gradually, he learned to trust me.

Top book of 2024
Revisado: 06-13-24
I just absolutely adored this story. Honestly, I am surprised by how much to be honest because a love story involving a surrogate and a biological father could go so wrong. This one was right in every way! The relationship development between Sig and Abby was done so well. While there isn't a lot of spice in this book, I wasn't missing anything because the swoon factor was still so high. I haven't read a book by Penelope Ward in a long while and this one is definitely a stand out favorite. Jacob Morgan and Desiree Ketchum narrate this book beautifully. They are two of my favorite narrators. You can't go wrong with the audio of this book!!

Historia
Ten years ago, after a sun-soaked summer spent in Greece, best friends Bess and Joni were cleared of having any involvement in their friend Evangeline’s death. But that didn’t stop the media from ripping apart their teenage lives like vultures. While the girls were never convicted, Joni, ever the opportunist, capitalized on her newfound infamy to become a motivational speaker. Bess, on the other hand, resolved to make her life as small and controlled as possible so she wouldn’t risk losing everything all over again. And it almost worked.

First Jennifer Jill Araya narration
Revisado: 06-13-24
This was the first book I have read by narrator Jennifer Jill Araya and she is the reason why I finished this book. The story started off strong, but the ending was disappointing. I really liked Bess as a character and felt for the way she lived her life after the death of her friend Evangeline. Joni, well, I never liked her and she was highly sus from the get-go. I just wish we had more of a definitive ending to this story. What I did find interesting about this book was how easily the media can shape the narrative of just about anything. It was very much giving Amanda Knox vibes. Overall, the story wasn't that good, but I loved Jennifer Jill Araya's voice! Will be on the lookout for more from her.

Revisado: 06-13-24
Okay this book was an unexpected little treat. Not only did Daisy Jane write a story that managed to be equal parts fun, sexy and heartfelt, she also did a helluva job narrating it. Jason Clarke is a win every time as far as I am concerned! His performance in The Wild One was fantastic as per usual. I have never read a book with the k!nk featured in this one, but I am now very interested to read more of the same. Really enjoyable story and great narration. Recommend!

Revisado: 06-13-24
Eric London and Zachary Johnson did a phenomenal job narrating River & Holden. I felt these characters in my bones; their love, their pain, their struggles and their hard won HEA. It was a rather cathartic experience finishing this book on Mother's Day. Holden and River will forever have a piece of my heart. I'm so glad I listened to this as an audiobook because it really elevated the experience of this story for me. I have a physical copy to keep on my shelf as a trophy as well.

Most people called it a cult. But for 20 years, Josh and Caleb called it home. In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farmwork and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners' world. But Joshua doesn't need temptation to sin. His whole life he's wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves. It can never be.

Historia
Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington) her entire life. She's learned to love her small world, with the misfit animals on her hobby farm, and her friendships with the town’s inhabitants. But when her 5-year relationship ends and her ex, town-golden-boy Ian, suddenly gets engaged, Sage needs a win—something that will convince everyone to stop pitying her all the time, and to put Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the town’s annual summer competition, would be the perfect opportunity. She just needs a partner.

Fantastic audio
Revisado: 06-06-24
This was a great story that Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber just knocked out of the park. Perfect romance for the summer written by Tarah DeWitt. Savor It is contemporary romance crack. It's S to the 4th power: Small town, swoony, sweet and spicy! The FMC was a little bit 'not like other girls' which can be annoying (in general), but everything else about this book was so perfect, I'm letting that go. I think fans of Stephanie Archer will love this book. Can't wait to read more from Taray DeWitt!!
