Historia
By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister - the lovely and almost-on-the-shelf - Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth - it's all an elaborate ruse to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable. But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a sham.

A bit underwhelming and then SA
Revisado: 09-08-24
I’ll cut to the chase, if you like the Brigerton series this book is not for you. Like most people say it has none of the amazing inclusiveness that the show has.
But to elaborate, the story is very basic. And I find Daphnes point of view somewhat frustrating. It isn’t necessarily her fault that she only cares about children but it does get pretty old.
I also didn’t necessarily like the spicy scenes, but that is just a question of preference.
My real critique comes to the very clear account of sexual abuse that does take place in the story. Daphne wants children whereas Simon does not. Daphne takes advantage of Simon being drunk to try to get pregnant. It was not interesting and didn’t really add anything into the story and Quinn could have come to this conclusion without Simon having to be violated.
The performance was great, no notes. Just the story I didn’t like.

Historical K-Drama!
Revisado: 04-03-24
Loved this book! The descriptions and story is in general great, I love the romance and the type of not super slow slow burn. The main character is fun to listen to and I enjoyed her thoughts and feelings.
I recommend this book if you love K-dramas and want to have a book that is like that between shows. I look forward to reading more from this author!

Decent story but great performance
Revisado: 04-03-24
If you love Howl’s moving castle this is a decent way to get some more content from that universe. The descriptions and writing is good, some tropes are pretty outdated and might not be for everyone.
There are counts of hitting children, as well as some sexism and the fact one of the villains is described as having a hooked nose. Otherwise a decent story with amazing descriptions of the surroundings and the magic is as always fun and different.

Two best-selling Agatha Christie novels in one great audiobook. The Mysterious Affair at Styles - Hercule Poirot solves his first case in the Agatha Christie novel that started it all. Who poisoned the wealthy Emily Inglethorp and how did the murderer penetrate and escape from her locked bedroom? The ABC Murders - Agatha Christie's beloved classic The ABC Murders sets Hercule Poirot on the trail of a serial killer, who is working his way through the alphabet and putting the whole country in a state of panic.

Really good performance by the reader. I think he did a great job. The stories overall are also good no complaints but some of the other mysteries are better. I wouldn’t start with these two together but go with one that are more famous.

Historia
The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything...until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Good and captivating

For anyone who likes mystery but in a “cozy” way.
A good book to sit down and listen to as you knit or draw, and as a classic mystery novel absolutely marvellous for just light engagement!
Have you already seen the new Death on the Nile movie with Gal Gadot you might still find it entertaining since characters have been changed for the movie!
A super recommend!

Revisado: 04-16-18
This book is awesome!
I have such a hard time just expressing how good this book really is.
I have read it 4 times now. listened to it 3 times.
The story is well written, I like how Cline describes the things he writes about but if you do not like that kind of style this book might not be for you.
It brings you back to awesome geek details, things that most nerds probably know.
My absolute favorite thing is how it's just one book, and it is also from a male perspective. It"a something new and fresh.
If you like geeky things and you love Wil Wheaton this book is great.
