Trump, Jr. writes about the importance of fighting back and standing up for what you believe in. From his childhood summers in Communist Czechoslovakia that began his political thought process, to working on construction sites with his father, to the major achievements of President Trump's administration, Donald Trump, Jr., spares no details and delivers a book that focuses on success and perseverance, and proves offense is the best defense.

A great book that sheds a little bit of light into the Trump family and the campaign, as well as the fight against the crazy leftists.

Historia
Beginning in the predawn darkness of June 6, 1944, The First Wave follows the remarkable men who carried out D-Day’s most perilous missions. The charismatic, unforgettable cast includes the first American paratrooper to touch down on Normandy soil; the glider pilot who braved antiaircraft fire to crash-land mere yards from the vital Pegasus Bridge; the brothers who led their troops onto Juno Beach under withering fire; as well as a French commando, returning to his native land, who fought to destroy German strongholds on Sword Beach and beyond.

Thoughtful and Sobering
Revisado: 10-07-19
This book is very good, as an American Ive heard so much about Omaha beach and the airborne divisions, and also the Rangers at Utah beach. This book goes deeper into the contributions by our Canadian, English, Scottish and even French allies on D-Day, June 6th, 1944. If everybody in the United States, and around the world, especially in the Allied WW2 countries, could step into a time box and just watch the carnage unfold, or even just walk the beaches and fields a few hours after the landings, I think most of the division we face would just silently fade away. These men knew who the enemy was, the Nazis of Germany. Today all the people running around the US calling each other Nazis would quit, if they really knew what went down on June 6th. As a grateful American, books like these need told. A must listen/ read

When Chuck Tatum began Marine boot camp, he was just a smart-aleck teenager eager to serve his country. Little did he know that he would be training under a living legend of the Corps - Medal of Honor recipient John Basilone, who had almost single-handedly fought off a Japanese force of three thousand on Guadalcanal.

Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

The History you Didn't realize you Needed to Know
Revisado: 08-04-19
This book was one of the free ones you get with a audible membership, so I downloaded thinking we will give it a try. IT was actually very informative and funny. The rivalries brought out in this book are ones I had never heard of really in any depth. Of course everyone knows about Puma and Adidas and Hamilton and Burr, but why they are rivals is often unmentioned. This is a quick, good book, mostly accurate, with the exception of promoting Darwinism in one story. Overall a very good piece.

Before he was “Babe” or “The Sultan of Swat” or “The Great Bambino”, George Herman Ruth was just another teenage misfit at St. Mary’s School for Boys. But Ruth has something the other boys don’t, and when Baltimore Orioles manager Jack Dunn watches him throw a baseball over a building, Ruth gets the chance to punch his ticket out of the orphanage. All he has to do now is make the team.

Not Kid Friendly

This book all 39 minutes of her, is not kid friendly. While it does have its funnier moments, there are also some moments that are entirely inappropriate and not necessary to tell this story. Will not be recommending.

AN Amazing Soldier
Revisado: 08-04-19
As my headline states, Admiral McRaven is an amazing soldier. This man related tale after tale of battlefield planning and execution, as well as the countless hours of training that goes into the finest men in special forces. Just when you thought he'd retire or tell a slightly boring story, he ups the bar again. Admiral McRaven and I disagree on some things politically, but I put my differences aside feeling this book would be a good one. While we disagree on some things outside this book, what makes America the greatest country is our ability to work together, and this book is worth the read/ listen.

How do you leave a review for a book that has been around for a long time, is considered one of the best at telling about E Company of the Band of Brothers? You don't, you just listen to it again and find someone who doesn't know about these men yet and force them to listen to this book too.

Stories that needed telling
Revisado: 07-13-19
In the first chapter, the author tell you this book was written as if you came down to the dinner table and your grandpa and war buddies were there reminiscing. This is exactly what this book does, the stories and experiences in this book needed told. Once again Adam Makos gets the job done. From a millennial, ( unfortunately) to the Greatest Generation, Thank YOU

Devotion tells the inspirational story of the U.S. Navy’s most famous aviation duo, Lieutenant Tom Hudner and Ensign Jesse Brown, and the Marines they fought to defend. A white New Englander from the country-club scene, Tom passed up Harvard to fly fighters for his country. An African American sharecropper’s son from Mississippi, Jesse became the navy’s first Black carrier pilot, defending a nation that wouldn’t even serve him in a bar.

Wow, Devotion Indeed
Revisado: 07-13-19
Having listened to a couple of Adam Makos other books, I bought this one, thinking, maybe he will let me down this time. You know Higher Call was fabulous, Spearhead was phenomenal, Voices of the Pacific made me think I was actually at a coffee table listening to old Vets talk. So here I am thinking maybe he'll disappoint this time. NO WAY, to be fair the story of Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner probably could've been told a lot quicker, but the side tracks to Red and the rest of his Marine comrades were well worth it. Korea is the war nobody talks about, everyone talks about WW2, and even now there are dozens of new books about Vietnam, but Korea is still largely silent. My grandfather served on the Wasp during Korea, but as far as I know never saw combat, so hearing about a Carrier and its flight wing serve in Korea fascinates me. Everything all the Heroes in this book went through deserve our utmost respect and admiration, Jesse Brown, Tom Hudner, Red the marine, and everyone else mentioned in this book. The title nailed the core of this book, Devotion, Devotion to your family, your country and fellow marines, and in Mr. Hudner's case, Devotion to your wingman. What a great book.
