Historia
Bodily Harm opens with a big win for Sloane and his new partner, Tom Pendergrass, in a medical malpractice case centered on the death of a child. But on the heels of this seeming victory, an unlikely character – toy designer Kyle Horgan – comes forward to tell Sloane that he’s gotten it all wrong. Horgan’s the one who’s truly responsible for the little boy’s death and others – not the pediatrician Sloane has just proven guilty.

Historia
Sam Carlson is a projectionist in small-town Minnesota, where fantasies unspool in glorious black and white—for him and for his sweetheart, college-bound math whiz Sarah Haber. When the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, Sam is sent to the Philippines and captured as a POW. Brutalized but unbroken by the Bataan Death March and POW camps, Sam is one of eighteen hundred starved and weakened prisoners herded into the cargo hold of a barbaric hell ship called the Arisan Maru, his survival doubtful.

A great story, told by the master storyteller
Revisado: 03-13-25
I’m a great fan of Robert Dugoni, but I wasn’t too sure about the book. After just a few chapters, I was totally engrossed with the story.
I now classify the book as one of the ‘greats’ in my collection. Wonderfully researched and brilliantly told.
For me it’s a 10 out of 10!

Historia
Dr. Peterson guides us through the ancient, foundational stories of the Western world. In riveting detail, he analyzes the Biblical accounts of rebellion, sacrifice, suffering, and triumph that stabilize, inspire, and unite us culturally and psychologically. Adam and Eve and the eternal fall of mankind; the resentful and ultimately murderous war of Cain and Abel; the cataclysmic flood of Noah; the spectacular collapse of the Tower of Babel; Abraham’s terrible adventure; and the epic of Moses and the Israelites.

Historia
Here are twenty meticulously plotted, intimate portraits of humanity at its best and worst, featuring assassins, CIA agents, gangsters, and more. A drug-dealing hit man unburdens his fears to a stranger. A rookie cop is assigned to the department’s file room. A ruthless killer only kills bad guys. A methodical bodyguard quits his job when he’s outsmarted. A military mission is planned to perfection. Each story is entirely distinct. And with their economical prose and unexpected twists, each could only have been written by the creator of Jack Reacher.

Sorry, I just couldn’t get into these short stories. I love Lee Child’s books and was disappointed with this collection of short stories.

As the protective mother of an infant daughter, Tracy is immediately drawn to her first file: the abduction of a five-year-old girl whose parents, embattled in a poisonous divorce, were once prime suspects. While reconstructing the days leading up to the girl’s disappearance, Tracy is brought into an active investigation with former partner Kinsington Rowe. A young woman has vanished on an isolated jogging trail in North Seattle.

A pattern is emerging, I say ‘Best in the series’ for every book I listen to in this series!
In this series, I found this book to be even better than their predecessors.
The characters are evolving and taking on personal features.
Once again the reader gives a great book that extra twist to make it brilliant.
As for the storyline, it is wonderfully twisted, and flecks of horrific human nature surface in a delicate way.

A truly excellent and touching book
Revisado: 05-21-24
This is one of the few books that has moved me.
Apart from an excellent read, great story and impeccably read, the author has the ability to bring characters from fiction to real life. The protagonist’s are brilliantly developing and the feelings of the characters is so well told, you can virtually share the tribulations.
Best book so far in the series.
