Surprisingly riveting & emotional

This reminded me of Pulitzer-winning Ghost Wars. Both books are about a subject that could have been dry, but both kept me on the edge of my seat. Narrator Alan Carlson, obviously Canadian himself by the accent, does an excellent job conveying the emotion behind the events without being overly dramatic. The subtle voices he uses for the different quotes also really helped bring the book to life. There's a reason this book just got nominated for a National Book Award.

An intense tale

I don't have a lot of experience with this genre, but Mark Leo Tapper's story really drew me in. The characters have good depth, the plot is intriguing, and the world-building is excellent.
Also, the narrator, Stacey Lind, is quickly becoming one of my favorites. She kept me on the edge of my seat!

A fun ride!

As both a girly girl and tomboy, this story really spoke to me! As others have noted, I could've wished for a more thorough intro to the story line, but once the plot settled in, things got good. Narrator Stacey Lind does a great job with the range of characters (and accents!) and left me wishing that Adair Monroe was a real person (SWOON). Here's hoping for a sequel.
