Adorable and Cozy
Revisado: 09-27-23
I loved the audio performance of this piece. The characters were likable and the story was put together well. This was like a nice two-hour-long hug followed by fifteen minutes of soft Christmas music. Everything was PG, which I loved since I like to listen to kids in the car. I listened in one sitting because the story was so captivating. Nothing heavy here, just a nice Christmas story with an adorable happily ever after.

Better than I could have imagined
Revisado: 08-29-22
I've always loved Lauren Kate but I was nervous about an adult romance. My fears mean nothing. This story is amazing and I can't wait to read it over and over again. The characters are so real, so human, so relatable that you can't help but go through everything with them. I will be recommending this book to everyone I know. Absolutely fantastic!

Fantastic book and captivating narration!
Revisado: 03-06-22
What an amazing book! I found so many important lessons for writers within this book, vaguely concealed in humor and reality.
I would highly recommend this book for aspiring writers. Sometimes the truth of the writing industry and publishing is hard to imagine. Lamott gives a fantastic real-life account of how this roller coaster career can be both heartbreaking and worthwhile.
The narrator does a fantastic job of capturing the author's intent and emotion within the written words.

Historia
Tyler, Channing, and Sammy Clauster have descended on their childhood home, with significant others and four-year-old twins in tow, for another good old-fashioned Christmas. Overwhelming holiday magic, as always, comes courtesy of their mom, Claire. They know she’s thrilled to cook, wrap gifts, decorate, accommodate, play games, overprepare every Christmas Eve Eve Eve tradition, and still let Dad be known as the Fun One. It’s her thing, right? Maybe the family should have paid closer attention. Because this year, something is a little off-key - and it’s not just the carols.

Historia
Soul by Soul tells the story of slavery in antebellum America by moving away from the cotton plantations and into the slave market itself, the heart of the domestic slave trade. Taking us inside the New Orleans slave market, the largest in the nation, where 100,000 men, women, and children were packaged, priced, and sold, Walter Johnson transforms the statistics of this chilling trade into the human drama of traders, buyers, and slaves, negotiating sales that would alter the life of each.

Historia
Acclaimed historians Theda Perdue and Michael D. Green paint a moving portrait of the infamous Trail of Tears. Despite protests from statesmen like Davy Crockett, Daniel Webster, and Henry Clay, a dubious 1838 treaty drove 17,000 mostly Christian Cherokee from their lush Appalachian homeland to barren plains beyond the Mississippi. For 4,000, this brutal forced march lead only to their deaths.

Educational and engaging
Revisado: 07-15-21
Assigned reading for a college course, but I completely enjoyed this book. The narrator is a bit slow for my taste, but the story is so compelling I listened in only two sessions. The history is quite tragic, and this book prompted me to ask more questions of the history, which will lead to more research.
