What A Great and Inspiring Story!

Actress,and inventor Heddy Lamarr was before my time. I wasn't born until the 70's, but I can recall seeing her in the first film adaption of Samson and Delilah in the 80's. I thought to myself then, as a little girl that Ms. Lamar was pretty and it was a good movie. We today had no idea just how highly intelligent an actress like her was.
Those that were her fans back then. When you look at and purchase multiple products, it never strikes you like who invented this ,what's the story behind this invention. Heddy Lamarr was highly intelligent, her life story was inspiring ,uplifting,sad happy,painful ,joyful ,scary,dangerous,etc.like many human beings. But her invention along with her friend was genius. I really like how the author told this story. It was well written. The narration was excellent. while listening to this story you the listener will find yourself being mentally taken back to a time of great turbulence and tragedy. The simple beginnings of a young woman who started out in the theater as an actress. To being married to a dangerous man ,with unorthodox ways of earning an living and obtaining power. To say the least.
Wow ,it's amazing how this story unfolds from Ms Lamarr days in Austria as a Jew woman,which ultimately leads to an invasion of Hitler and a Nazis Germany. Which then Heddy finds that she must flee Austria and leave behind her husband ,mother, great wealth,and influence. etc. To find herself on a ship ,and a chance encounter with a Hollywood movie head. From,Which then Heddy Lamarr the screen actress is born. So many times woman have been taking for granted, or looked upon as sexual objects,or looked upon more for their beauty and not their brains. Generations after Generations,so many times. That is so sad. What makes Heddy Lamarr stand out so, is not just her beauty and her onscreen appeal as an famous actress. It's her brain.
She along with many women in history was and is such an inspiration to many other women down the line. Ladies beauty is great, but it's the beauty inside of you that counts the most. and first and foremost. Ms Heddy Lamarr 's heart was golden, although tortured from fleeing Austria, and having to leave behind all the jewish people to Hitler's wrath. Through her invention she tried to make things right. By helping many other people. The military. That was the initial plan. Although in the beginning her invention was rejected by the USA military. God still works things out for your good. With in part ,her invention has and is being utilized in so many ways . Including the very smart phones,devices we use today. Cheers for Ms Heddy Lamarr. Cheers for The only woman in the Room. It's a great story!!

A very Good Read!!

I really enjoy all Mary Higgins Clark books. The under suspicion books with co author Alafair Burke have become some of my favorite books as well. Every since I've got my eyes on you to The Cinderella Murder, and more. I have really been enjoying this series. This book is very good. Although Jan Maxwell is an excellent narrator for Mary H Clark books Heather Lind is a good edition to this series as well. The story ,the narration, overall is a great read!! Thumbs up!! 5 stars all the way!

This was a very good book. Although the book is a work of fiction . The theme of the book is just like real life situations unfortunately for some people. This was a great read and it is a story that will definitely tug at your heart strings. I give it 5 stars all the way. Cheers for the Under Dogs! It's that kind of story.

I really struggled with this book.

I could not finish this book. It was extremely irritating. I am not trying to be mean. Although the story had a good plot to it. The story also had a good twist to it. It was hard to sit through this book really. The narrator is also very good. But the main character is extremely gullable. The second main character is somewhat a bit too cold to believe. I didn't like it . But maybe you will. Like I said the plot was really good. The twist in the story was surprising. it made you want to listen to more. I really have mixed emotions about this book. I'm not being mean. But objective. Its a good effort. But it kind of fell short in some ways for me. overall I would grade this book a C. or C+. Thank you.

This was a great read!!

The title of this story alone got my attention. It made me wonder if it would be a good story. It was. This story has many layers to it. The layers are all woven together. You began to see that the plot thickens. It's not just a basic plot. And as the story unfolds. You began to see all is not as it seems in a good and bad way as far as the characters are concern. How they all connect ultimately. It's quite an suspense and romance novel. Check it out!

I don't want to give the story away. But listening to the first chapter,I wasn't quite sure what to expect of the story. But I'm glad I gave it a chance. The story turned out to be really good. I like the little twist in the story as well. It was a very entertaining story.
