The story was good. The listen was ok, which is too bad because it could have been a really good listen if the author had just hired a professional reader instead of trying to do it himself. I wish I had bought a written format instead of the audio. The story is definitely worth reading.

Fourth book takes a serious detour

I enjoyed the first three books a great deal and was eager to get the next three. Unfortunately, the fourth book is a full blown new-age religious sermon. It gets so intense at the end that I couldn’t stomach it long enough to get through the last 4 chapters. I bought the books 4-6 omnibus, don’t know if I will try 5 & 6 or not at this point.

Should have hired a reader

The information was interesting, but I couldn’t get past the author’s reading. His voice inflection was, how can I describe it, like he was reading to elementary school students. Especially difficult when he’s attempting to read from the KJV bible.

Couldn’t get through it

Obviously a lot of people loved this book. I tried but for me it was one of those that was so uninteresting that my mind would wander and would realize that I had no idea what I had heard for the last 10-15 minutes. I would rewind and 15 minutes later find that the same thing had happened again. It may have been different with another narrator.

good story, but preachy

Over all this is a good story and the characters were developed well, however, the last half of the book becomes very preachy and in parts I felt like I was listening to an evangelical preacher scream from his pulpit. If you can get past that it is an enjoyable listen.

I realy enjoyed this audiobook. It is quite long and is not an action packed type thriller, but if you like historical fiction, drama and supernatural thriller books, this one rolls them all into one nicely. Very well read also.
