Best non-fiction I've read in a long time.
This is what therapy should have taught me off the bat instead of breadcrumbing me for years.
Yes, it has some new-age ideas, but it does not at all disqualify the legitimacy and usefulness of identifying your own negative thoughts and behaviours and learning about them with the purpose of improving your life by letting them go.

Alan Alda did indeed make me remember and even explain to myself the magic of having chemistry with somebody, of thinking what they're thinking.
He also reminded me of those teachers I had so far because of whom I couldn't understand anything in class. Because they thought it's normal for us to know what that jargon meant.
Point is, the book had very good points at the beginning which Alan explained in more words than necessary especially at the end of the book.
It had good points, but it could have been shortened to a third of its length.
Ironic, huh?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the way it was read. It sounded very posh, the reader sounded like a snob, a pretentious person who likes to brag.

What other book might you compare L'art de la Simplicité to and why?

The Osho book collection of his teachings.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator unfortunately ruined this book for me, I am sorry to say that. The fact that one should choose his/her clothes with care became the fact that you must only wear fancy expensive I-AM-BETTER-THAN-EVERYONE clothes. Because of the way it was read, I found that terrible..

Do you think L'art de la Simplicité needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I think it covered everything, no need for a second book, unless it actually is a list of activity ideas.
