Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Great Performance. Best of the Best!

[Light Spoilers I'm vague]
I loved the book all the way through. I predicted just about every twist though, and near the end I was just upset with it. Very human. Very real. Sadly, that is not what I like in stories. In many ways it is an opinion that is not shared by the majority of people reading.
That being said, I hate when things are thrown away due to stupidity more than overwhelming antagonists. If it weren't a stupid way to cause the conflict in the end then I would have liked it more for the tragedy. Instead it is as if the whole thing could have just been avoided with glue. Everything was literally set up for the perfect antagonist trap, why make it an accident that catches them??? It took all agency away from the antagonist and any fighting power away from the protagonists before a fight happened. there was no conflict, just "The End".
In all I don’t recommend the book unless you just want to read something great that becomes an upsetting disappointment.

Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

Girl Voice very off-putting
Revisado: 04-03-23
I read a review of the book before listening. It said that the girl voice was off-putting.
It is true. The voice he puts on for women is like a brain dead southern transvestite. It really hurts to listen to.
I don't regularly want to say bad things about voice actors. This is a special case where one could use this as an example of what not to do when voicing that of the opposite sex.

Great Story, Well Told

I very much enjoyed this book brought to life. I was looking for reference material for a haunting circus and this is the place to go.
