Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Best book I have read!
Revisado: 08-15-18
This is possibly the best book I have ever read (listened to). The author, a Ph.D. in neurophysiology, gives a perfect overview of what sleep is and why we need it. All my life I have heard that sleep is important, but it was never explained to me in such detail. Halfway through I started prioritizing sleep in my life, trying to obtain all the benefits outlined in the book.
Steve West, the narrator, has a voice that just 'fit' the topic. He kept it engaging. Steve was able to maintain a consistent performance and had intuitive timing throughout.
I think this is a book that is worth you dropping what you are currently listening to pick up. It is just that game-changing.

Exactly what I needed to help me organize my life
Revisado: 07-31-18
One day I will probably look back and look at the moment I started this book as the day my life was changed forever. That might sound very dramatic, but I am a person that suffers from a lack of focus, and always has a million ideas running through my mind at any point in time. This book helped me adopt the GTD framework so that I can get all the things I need to get done, done.

Brendan Burchard said, "You need, more than anything else, daily momentum. It's the secret of all life happiness." "Secret of all life happiness?" Whoa. Sounds pretty good to me. Just a little "daily momentum"? No problem, right? But what if you're stuck? Maybe you've been trying to break through but just can't seem to get ahead.

Full of Golden Nuggets of knowledge
Revisado: 06-12-18
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Growing up, I was taught that the objective when reading a book was to get that ONE 'golden nugget' of knowledge. This book, on the contrary, is full of golden nuggets in the form of ideas as to why being an ESDer (Ever Single Day-er) is important, what it unlocks, and how to keep yourself going.
I think this book is going to be in my regular rotation...

Historia
Circadian is a collection of lyric essays that reach beyond personal narrative and exist in the vast landscape of curiosity and intrigue. With an astute attentiveness to language and form, Chelsey Clammer poetically weaves personal stories into the narratives of different - yet connecting - fields of study. Through this, she explores experiences of trauma, mental illnesses, and the rhythmic and oscillating desires for solitude and connection. Each essay in Circadian stands as a witness to the brilliant and destructive cycles that create our lives.

Good Break from Self-Help
Revisado: 06-12-18
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This book wasn't quite what I expected, but it was a good change of pace for me. I am usually a listener of self-help books, or a reader of fiction. The performance by Brenda was great. I think I need to go back and give this a relisten now that I know what to expect.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. Not only does Danielle Krysa do an amazing job breaking down why we hear that voice, she also gives actionable advice with which to combat it.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Your Inner Critic Is a Big Jerk?
Humanizing my Inner Critic. Giving a name to that little annoying voice in my head will help me better deal with it, and move past it.
The exercises in the book are actionable and definitely worth ACTUALLY doing.
