Historia
Four years before Nina Totenberg was hired at NPR, where she cemented her legacy as a prizewinning reporter, and nearly twenty-two years before Ruth Bader Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court, Nina called Ruth. A reporter for The National Observer, Nina was curious about Ruth’s legal brief, asking the Supreme Court to do something revolutionary: declare a law that discriminated “on the basis of sex” to be unconstitutional. That call launched a remarkable, nearly fifty-year friendship.

Wonderful memoir
Revisado: 06-17-23
This is a wonderful memoir of Nina Totenberg’s life and tribute to a RBG. Beautifully written and read, of course the latter goes without saying.

Historia
Ever since she became a parent, Mary Louise Kelly has said “next year.” Next year will be the year she makes it to her son James’s soccer games (which are on weekdays at 4 p.m., right when she is on the air on NPR’s All Things Considered, talking to millions of listeners). Drive carpool for her son Alexander? Not if she wants to do that story about Ukraine and interview the secretary of state. Like millions of parents who wrestle with raising children while pursuing a career, she has never been cavalier about these decisions.

A must listen for any parent or fan
Revisado: 06-17-23
Mary Louise Kelly is such a beautiful writer and, of course, narrator. If you are a fan of her work it’s a must listen. If you are a parent it’s a must listen. This book was the perfect at my stage of life with kids moving on to and beyond college and elderly parents. It’s a beautiful tribute to parenthood and the struggles of trying to balance career and family. It made me cry in a good way. It captured this moment in time so beautifully. I am so grateful for this and have told all my friends to listen!

Historia
In her brand-new collection, Phoebe shares stories that will make you laugh, but also plenty that will hit you in the heart, inspire a little bit of rage, and maybe a lot of action. That means sharing her perspective on performative allyship, White guilt, and what happens when White people take up space in cultural movements; exploring what it’s like to be a woman who doesn’t want kids living in a society where motherhood is the crowning achievement of a straight, cis woman’s life; and more.

I love Phoebe Robinson’s perspective. She is incredibly wise and as we learn we laugh.
