Historia
I Did It is the story of Gina Champion-Cain, the mastermind behind the largest woman-led Ponzi scheme in US history—$400 million. This real-life story includes a multitude of participants, banks, hedge funds, egomaniacs, and small-time crooks, all fueled by greed, stupidity, and a keen desire to look the other way. And even when they were looking in the right direction, all of these people and entities saw nothing.

Many errors in the recording
Revisado: 02-28-23
Two of the last couple chapters (23 and 26) have major errors in them. One is completely missing ( it's a repeat of an earlier chapter) and the other one cuts off 2/3 of the way through. The writing is pretty atrocious but the story of how this all snowballed is very interesting. And it's hilarious how Gina never truly takes responsibility and spends so much time blaming others ... including her victims for not doing enough due diligence! The lack of any real self-awareness is the true comedy of this book.

Was delighted throughout
Revisado: 05-21-21
I've had a love-hate relationship with my mid-1970s fandom of Peter Frampton. but after seeing him play at Les Paul's Carnegie hall birthday celebration I realize he wasn't just a guilty pleasure from my teens. The Amazing Stories he shares in this book underlines that fact in spades.

Detailed account of early nyc history
Revisado: 07-20-17
This is a very detailed history of the years covering Hudson, Stuyvesant and the early colonization of America. Only for student and lovers of history. The personalities become alive, but the intricate detail makes this far from a "summer read".

very good book but so many mispronunciations
Revisado: 06-19-17
has someone in the wine business I found this book fascinating. the author did a great job of interweaving the multiple storylines and tying them all together by the end. Sadly the narrator is not familiar with wine industry and mispronounced so many of the wine regions and grapes.

Historia
Awe and exhilaration—along with heartbreak and mordant wit—abound in Lolita, which tells the story of the aging Humbert Humbert's obsession for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a hypercivilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America.
