This entire series is in my top 5 favorite fictional novels. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who enjoy fantasy OR RPG gaming. plus they are all over 500,000 words so they are well worth the purchase. lots of work goes into these novels and it shows. well thought out. Atr these stories based on reality? Who can say. the past is hidden. You don't know what you don't know.

I love everything about these books. The only thing that bothers me personally is that there is far to much "mouth sound" for me. It's one of my pet peves. I can't stand hearing people chew or hear the squish of saliva every time they open their mouth. That's literally the o ky critique I have. The narration is great otherwise. maybe a filter over the mic might help, I'm sure there is a way to reduce the squishy mouth sounds.

Jez Cajiao has become one of my top ten favorite writers. he appeals to my sensibilities as an alpha male. This is the kind of writing I'm always hoping for and frequently get let down on but Jez never falls short of Glorious my son!!! now on to another Jez Cajiao series Underdark, which is another of my favorite and the main characters of these stories correlate in a lot of ways.

my only complaint is the use of plurals to describe singular entities, it's so unnecessary and only adds confusion. something in the books even proves so as the people described as they/them in the singular are referred to as sons and daughters by their parents. We could just leave any and all political correctness at the door in fantasy settings and everything would move along as smooth as butter.

LitRPG is one of my favorite genres now but I just couldn't get into this tale. I'm also not exceptionally ecstatic about gender and sexual politics in my fantasy listening, we get enough of that in this backwards world we live in. from 2 chapters in, because of the way the writing was unfolding, I was asking myself if there was going to be. gay character introduced, should have known it would be the most masculine character in the book, obviously. wouldn't be surprised if there are some more that come along as well but I won't know because I'm not finishing the book. No thanks.
