“This Isn’t Working for Me” by Ilene S. Cohen & Dr. Edrica Richardson – A Wake-Up Call Wrapped in Wisdom
Sometimes a book doesn’t just land in your life—it confronts you. Twice, in my case.
“This Isn’t Working for Me” isn’t your typical self-help book filled with generic advice and empty affirmations. Ilene S. Cohen and Dr. Edrica Richardson deliver a raw, honest, and empowering guide for anyone who’s ever sat in silence thinking, “How did I get stuck here?”
What stood out to me is how practical and relatable this book is. It doesn’t preach. It doesn’t sugarcoat. It holds up a mirror and gently—yet firmly—reminds you that staying in situations that drain you is a choice. And better yet? Walking away or redefining your boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s survival. It’s self-respect.
Dr. Edrica’s therapeutic insights blended perfectly with Ilene’s expertise on emotional health and boundary-setting. Together, they break down complex emotional traps—like people-pleasing, fear of disappointing others, or staying in roles that no longer align with who you are.
By the second listen, it wasn’t just about hearing the message—it was about letting it sink in and challenge me. This book gives you permission—permission to say “No more,” permission to prioritize your peace, and permission to choose yourself without apology.
If you’re feeling stuck in relationships, careers, or personal patterns that no longer serve you, this isn’t just a book—it’s a lifeline.
“This Isn’t Working for Me” is for anyone brave enough to admit when enough is enough—and ready to do something about it. It’s honest. It’s empowering. And it might just be the nudge you need to reclaim your life.
I didn’t just listen to it. I listened to it TWICE in one weekend.
Definitely deserves a 5 out of 5– A must-read (or listen) for anyone ready to stop settling and start living intentionally.
It definitely can help to begin the process of untangling your mind.

My fourth read for 2025 and it is AMAZING!!!
Revisado: 02-17-25
I recently stumbled across RobertFrank615 videos in my Facebook feed a few weeks ago. Then I saw a very heartfelt post by him on Facebook yesterday. A photo of him when he was much younger and a photo of him present day. In that post he talked about how his younger self was his hero.
That post immediately got my attention and he mentioned his book and I purchased it.
His honesty, transparency and his willingness to be raw and uncut in his book; and not hiding his mistakes and weaknesses showed a lot of strength.
We live in a world where a man isn’t supposed to show weakness. We’re looked as the being that is never supposed to break, or cry, or be afraid…it’s like we’re supposed to always be invincible.
In this book, we witness a STRONG MAN at his weakest point but how we deal with and get out of our weak spots is where we see our true strength!
Robert Frank 615 gained another fan and I truly hope for his wellbeing and full restoration and that this is the beginning of a long healthy and renewed life. Thank you RF615 for your transparency!

In a world that teaches us to cling to what we love at all costs, there is an undeniable art to moving on - and it's one that we are constantly relearning. In this series of honest and poignant essays, Heidi Priebe explores the harsh reality of what it means to let go of the people and situations we love most - often before we are ready to - and how to embrace what comes next.

There definitely were some moments that cut to the core...knowing that there are some things that we just have to accept and let go no matter how hard it may seem or how much we may love someone. Certain parts of this book even brought me to tears.
BEAUTIFUL!!!

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Look around. We are on the brink of catastrophe. A dystopia of excessive pleasure, comfort, and a false sense of security as to how successful you will be is no longer just a relatable movie scene. Since birth, you were spoon-fed ideas, beliefs, and routines that program you into the same default path as everyone else. This leads to the same quality of life as everyone else.

A great listen.
Revisado: 12-28-23
2023 my word for the year was INTENTIONAL...but I wasn't really to successful with execution of being always intentional. For 2024 my word choice is FOCUS and I decided to start it off with literature focused on FOCUS and what better book to choose than THE ART OF FOCUS.
I was skeptical because there were no reviews but it turned out to be a pretty informative listen AND I can actually listen to it again. Completed it in 2 days in between doing my work. I normally like to listen to audio books a first time and then the second time would be for note taking.
It's worth it.

It amazes me how something can be around for so many years and you never hear about it and then at an opportune moment in the timeline of your life this same thing presents itself.
This book is by far a must have for any young man or any man re-discovering himself.
I listened to this in one sitting and it was hitting so many points for me. If applied...this can definitely be a help in your personal life, business life and love life.
I LOVED IT! And will definitely listen again and again and take notes too.
