Historia
As the flames of treachery spread throughout the Imperium, Horus plots to subvert or destroy all those who would stand against him. On Mars, home world of the Mechanicum priesthood, the great manufactory-cities have long produced much of the weaponry required for the expeditionary fleets across the galaxy - making the world invaluable to whoever controls it in the coming war.

The War of the Mechanicum
Revisado: 09-15-22
This book was an outstanding piece of work. The story gripped me and refuse to let go as I listened while I went about my day. The mystery and war aspects of the book were amazing, not to mention the narrator voiced the characters beautifully. Highly recommended!

Historia
The planet of Caliban exists much as it has for thousands of years - the knightly orders protect the common people, fighting back the beasts that lurk in the depths of the seemingly endless forests. Young Zahariel and Nemiel aspire to join the greatest of the orders, led by the example of mighty Lion El'Jonson and his vision of a peaceful and unified world. But the coming of the Imperium brings new concerns and a new destiny for the Lion as part of the Great Crusade, and the sons of Caliban must decide if they will follow him to glory among the stars.

The seeds of envy and hatred
Revisado: 03-28-22
The Descent of Angels is a wonderful title filled with tales of the knightly order from which Lion El Johnson came, following the story of a young boy growing into manhood as a Knight. A tale of wonder and wisdom, with sprinklings of mysticism, serves as a look into the morals and teachings of the astartes within the Dark Angels legion. It goes to show the overshadowing of the Lion’s achievements of his brother, Luther, an equally great man cursed to live in the shadow of the legendary Primarch’s legacy. The story was well written and narrated, while the accent (whether the narrator’s own or simply a choice for the book) is a little strange to my own tastes for a story of this style, helps to show the youth of the protagonist and his peers, while showing the superiority of their teachers and fellow brother knights. If you enjoy the aesthetic of the Dark Angels, I highly recommend this title for its rich atmosphere and heavy themes of knighthood and chivalry, and is a rather peculiar addition to the heresy series but would be a good stand alone read simply for the lore of the Dark Angel’s origin.

The Tragedy of Fulgrim
Revisado: 03-05-22
This work is very much the Tragedy of Fulgrim, detailing the fall of the primarch and his legion. While it masterfully encapsulates this aspect, as well as shows the depravity that comes with the Prince of Pleasure as it changes even the rememberancers, the story itself felt like a slog to get through. It has wonderful moments that show the slippery slope that is Slaaneshi worship, the story itself never managed to truly capture my attention as the previous books have. While still a very critical book to the Horus Heresy, and my latest read into it, I would dare say it is my least favorite in all of the books I’ve listened to thus far.

A rather unexpected turn of events!

A wonderfully crafted sequel that, while seemed formulaic at first, defied all of my expectations by the end of the read! If you think you know what’s going to happen, then enjoy the tale

Historia
The Cadian Gate is broken, and the Imperium is riven in two. The might of the Traitor Legions, kept shackled for millennia behind walls of iron and sorcery, has been unleashed on a darkening galaxy. Among those seeking vengeance on the Corpse Emperor’s faltering realm are the Death Guard, once proud crusaders of the Legiones Astartes, now debased creatures of terror and contagion.

Incredibly grotesque and captivating
Revisado: 01-18-22
The amounts of detail in this title truly show the macabre nature of the Deathguard legion, including their slaves and nurgling minion’s mindless manners, all the while having an engaging story that grabs you by the ear and demands you listen.
