Historia
If you ever struggle with your connection to God (or whether you even feel connected to a faith at all!), you're not alone. Especially in our modern world, with its relentless, never-ending news cycle, we can all grapple with such questions. Do we do that alone, with despair and resignation? Or do we make sense of it with God, and with hope? In these uncertain times, could believing in the power of divine love make the most sense?

A "theological type" who loved every moment!
Revisado: 03-19-24
I found this book to be thoughtful, honest, and spiritually insightful! I felt like I was reading the spiritual journals of a dear friend from my high school youth group. God spoke to my soul and challenged me throughout the book. I will be re-reading it again (not many books fall into that category). I've been a college minister for most of my career and am currently a hospital chaplain (& hold a Master of Divinity). When asked about my faith, I typically reply, "I'm a recovering Baptist." or "I'm a Messianic-mono-theist," which usually takes a minute to sink in. As a female who grew up in Baptist life in the 80's & 90's, I resonated with many of the stories and found myself smiling throughout the book, I'd like to thank Savannah for being faithful in following her purpose and for writing this very personal book. I've always loved Savannah as my morning news anchor and now I love her even more!! Looking forward to hitting the dance floors of Heaven with Savannah one day!

Historia
Caleb Wilde, author of the acclaimed memoir Confessions of a Funeral Director, was a skeptic. The baffling stories people told him—deathbed visions of long-dead parents, visits from the other side—must be hallucinations or wishful thinking, he thought. But the more stories he heard, and the more he learned about non-Western understandings of body and spirit, the less sure he was.

Challenging, insightful, & entertaining.
Revisado: 01-13-24
the reader sounded a bit "wooden" but the content was so engaging that I got used to it quickly. Oddly the "performance" eventually even added to add to the topic & the book.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Historia
Biblical womanhood - the belief that God designed women to be submissive wives, virtuous mothers, and joyful homemakers - pervades North American Christianity. From choices about careers to roles in local churches to relationship dynamics, this belief shapes the everyday lives of evangelical women. Yet biblical womanhood isn't biblical, says Baylor University historian Beth Allison Barr. It was born in a series of clearly definable historical moments.
