By one magically inspired Austen fan to the rest of us. Austen with glamour. Inspired.

Love the text of the book and it is pleasantly read, EXCEPT, the narrator pronounces library as "liberry" nearly every time she says it, and it is said many, many times.

I had to back up and restart the story 3 times around chapter 7; I kept losing the thread. Also caught myself wondering how long the book was going to be several times. Narrator's yorkshire accents are amusing. Beginning and end of book are entertaining. Love the hero.

The first several chapters were exactly the kind of little known background information about a generally unexamined element of our daily life that I love to learn. The end of the book is about factory farming and I found it very disturbing. It did feel like the book boobytrapped me at the end there.

The former CEO of one of the few banks that did not need the TARP bailout explains the ways banks and banking regulators failed to protect the rest of us from, and actually caused, the crash of 2008. A fascinating insider's viewpoint on US banking. Quite, quite obvious the author is a big fan of Ayn Rand, long before he said so himself.

Don't let the short length and author-narrator's nasal voice throw you. This little book is packed with useful information. I will listen again.

Good narrator. Good story. Full of "knowledge plums", too. It was fascinating and I enjoyed it.

The material is fascinating. It seems as if cancer treatment and nutrition research have both run off the rails and into the weeds due to tenaciously (and unfortunately incorrect) US government "science" funding. Science in quotes because research money seems only to go to support approved conclusions.

The book is challenging to listen to, however, because the narrator does not seem to be able to pronounce all of the syllables in multi-syllabic words. He says "exackly". He pronounces some scientific terms so strangely it takes me a second to recognize them. His voice is very pleasant, but the pronunciation! I tried to listen a second time, but simply could not stand it.

I have been reading and dabbling in the stock market for years, so I "knew" most of this. What was great was having it all cohesively presented.
