The second book was very entertaining although it did not have as many laugh out loud moments as the first book. I really like the surprises and the fact that the plot isn't predictable.

The only criticism I have is that the author emphasizes that being forty is really old and everyone who confronts or meets the heroine treats her like she is a middle aged woman in her sixties are older. There is a redundancy to mentioning her age as if she should already be in retirement.

I Absolutely love these stories by Shannon because I am 44 years old and at first I feel offended that this book is talking so transparent about being 40 and slightly overweight and then I realized that is just me feeling the same way.

I love the fact that it's just pure fun. This story has so much humor and so much unpredictability. The author did amazing a job of keeping me completely engaged from front to back.

Great Story But It Could Be Phenomenal with a Better Actress

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I love the flashes of humor the sensuality and the suspense. The only thing I did not like about this book was the female actress who sounded like she was whining the whole time she was reading every scene.

She sounded like a victim the whole time. A person with low self-esteem which is fine except she could at least sound like she was enjoying sensual time with the male lead, but she sounded like she was whining even then.

She whined when she was happy.
She whined when she was standing up for herself.

The story was so good but I almost stopped listening to it because of how annoying the female reader was but I like audio books so that I can exercise and get entertainment at the same time.

How Can Beauty & Intelligence Be So Dangerous?

This book was amazing. At first I was so disgusted by Nick's character that I almost couldn't finish listening. I watched the movie before reading the book so I wanted to keep listening to hear how the author presented such a complex story.

I was blown away by the attention to detail. Every little detail was a story that hinted but never exposed the next twist.

Through Amy's revelations and Nick's transformation you realize they are actually the perfect couple they presented to the world.

Gillian has a gift for turning beauty into something dangerous and sinister.

I look forward to reading Girl on the Train next. Thank you Gillian for sharing your storytelling talent.
