Dissappointing

Narration is good, voice change is good....my disappointment is that I don't know which books are in which sections. End of sections do not correspond to the end of books or even chapters. There is no easy way to skip to different books. If you want to listen to Psalms before going through the whole Bible this doesnt allow it. OK if you wanna "read" straight through.

God Strong is a MUST READ

Total
5 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 03-12-10

Why is it so hard for us to take our hands off the steering wheel and let God drive? Why is it so hard for us to fathom the idea of not even sitting in the passenger seat or pushing behind the car, but actually putting ourselves in the trunk? NOW, that is relying on God's strength. God helps the helpless and delights in being our strength. We must come to a point that depending just on our strength, just doesn't work. When we no longer rely on strength from within, but strength from above it is no longer up to us to be the strong ones, because its no longer about us. When we replace our strength with God's Strength we discover a major difference.~ Sara Horn, God Strong

This is the theme of the entire book and while it is especially true in "Military" relationship, the principles are applicable for any relationship. God Strong reinforced principles that God has been teaching me. Sara Horn is the REAL deal. You KNOW that she is not just talking, but speaking from the heart. Ms. Horn comes through her writing as human, and relying totally on God & His Strength. You can tell, that she embodies what she teaches. She makes traversing the challenges & "rough spots" seem possible when you are-GOD STRONG. Ms. Horn KNOWS what she is talking about and that is conveyed in her writing. Rebecca Rogers delivery is a bit dry and I did not feel her tone/ pace matched the tone/pace of that Ms. Horn created in this book, and would have loved to had this read by a more enthusatic reader, one that READ with as much confidence and conviction that Ms. Horn projects in her writing. Once I got use to Ms. Rogers dryness, I enjoyed the book and have listened to it from beginning to end 3 times already. Overall it is wonderful to have a book from someone that's been there, done that. This book should be handed out a field manual for all women who are coping/dealing/struggling with challenges of a "military" marriage.
