Historia
Abby’s no stranger to the pain secrets, and lies can inflict on the person trying to hold it all together. She hides behind a forced smile and the hope that one day she’ll be able to find happiness again. After suffering from domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, Abby makes a split decision that alters the trajectory of her life forever. That decision leads her to cross paths with Dawson, a devastatingly handsome but troubled physical therapist who’ll do everything he can to save her. He’ll stop at nothing to ensure Abby’s life doesn’t end in the same fate his sister’s did.

Raw, emotional and healing
Revisado: 07-04-24
As someone who has dealt with DV, as a survivor and a supporter, this story was incredibly healing. Not only is the plot fully laid out, the characters well developed and the narrators wonderfully talented, but the emotion in this story spoke volumes. Knowing how it is to love someone who hurts you, it took a long time for me to understand why it took so long to leave. But the author, Katie, explained through this novel, beautifully might I add, how and why it can be so difficult, the emotional toll it can take on a survivor and the lasting effects, along with the growth and strength only survivors can understand. To be able to voice this kind of emotion and still be able to write a story that sucks you in, and to throw in a twist, takes a special kind of talent. I absolutely loved listening to this and the narrators did fantastic bringing life to the story. I would absolutely recommend. Easy 5 stars.
