Historia
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Loved it!
Revisado: 12-15-22
as a Minnesotan, I loved it. I loved him as our senator and wish he still was. I've always appreciated Al's kind of humor and have met him twice now. So maybe my opinion is biased

Just Don't.
Revisado: 12-03-22
the information might have been fun if I was actually reading it, but the narrators voice was soooooooo monotonous I couldn't even tell when we'd switched topics. I tried to tough it out, but I just can't do it.

Revisado: 05-03-18
It's totally a comedy book. but there's also true information as well, but it's presented so that you won't curl up in a ball and sob.

Historia
Since the Gutenberg Bible first went on sale in 1455, printing has been viewed as one of the highest achievements of human innovation. But the march of progress hasn't been smooth; downright bizarre is more like it. Printer's Error chronicles some of the strangest and most humorous episodes in the history of Western printing. Take, for example, the Gutenberg Bible. While the book is regarded as the first printed work in the Western world, Gutenberg's name doesn't appear anywhere on it.

okay
Revisado: 03-21-18
For some reason I thought this would be more specific than it was, but the stories told were good. Very funny with thrown in asides or things that would make you laugh. Very dry content but it was ok over all. I don't plan on reading/listening again.

I was so excited to see one of my favorite books available, but almost all of the other characters except Barney & Laura are missing. Nothing about the lapsed priest, or Dr Death, or even the wonderful back story of Bennett. I was so disappointed I returned it

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Absolutely love the story and the performance. I know the difference between the characters as he performs each of them. Of course, they don't sound like the tv characters but you can see them all in your minds eye.

Historia
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Tim Robbins does a great job expressing this story. It almost feels like he was watching it happen instead of reading.
