Zach grew in power and thrived in the post-Framework world. He became a respected leader, a shining example of what it meant to be good. But as the world ended, he had only one thought: to punish the monster that had killed the world long before the Framework ended it. Yet not even with his incredible power was he able to stand against the World Ender. His arrival in the new realty, the Infinite Realm, gives him the chance to grow stronger, to find the monster again-and make it pay.

I’ve had this bookmarked on RR for awhile. I was never sure if the premise was interesting to me. I decided to give this a shot since it’s a long audible book and I’m already suffering from Cradle withdrawal. This is exactly what I needed. The story is excellent and I can’t wait for book 2 and 3 to be released on audible. There are a few times the author repeats the same info but it’s not, in my opinion, worth stressing about.

Sacred Valley has been saved...at least, what’s left of it. With his home finally secure, Lindon delves deep into the ancient labyrinth, seeking long-lost Soulsmithing knowledge and the secret to destroying the Dreadgods. Monarchs plot against him and against each other, unaware of the threats gathering in realms beyond. Far above Lindon and the Monarchs and the Dreadgods, another war is waged. Suriel and the Abidan clash against the Mad King and his forces in a battle for the fate of many worlds. And if it is lost, Cradle will be destroyed.

Great story!!
Revisado: 10-31-21
I first read this book in the late 80’s. Yes I’m old. I have since read it and Blood Star multiple times. It’s one of those stories that fill a void when I can’t find anything else worth reading so I was pleasantly surprised to find out it had been made into an audiobook.
I gave the performance 4 stars, it’s probably closer to 4.5+.
I highly recommend this audiobook and anxiously await Blood Star.

addictive mess
Revisado: 02-05-21
Let’s start with the bad...
Character dialogue is poor
MC has no/very few redeeming qualities - kill and/or rob everyone for ....reasons.
Words and lines are repeated, constantly
Narration is poor. One of the voices sounded like John Wayne and I’m pretty sure Rob Ruggle narrated some of it. Basically it’s not a speech pattern i would associate with wuxia/xianxia.
The good
Call it a guilty pleasure but i found the story to be addicting. I believe it’s because the MC feels no remorse for anything. Would I recommend it? Probably but I would absolutely feel the need to share my complete impression vs just saying yes.
MC is OP so there is never any pressure or stress listening to the story. I don’t usually like this but it does make for a relaxing listening experience.

I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

I bought this book because of the narrator. It just so happens that the story is amazing.
I was hesitant to buy the book because the MC is a child. As an old guy it feels creepy to buy that type of story. No need to worry. In short, grown ups soul/psyche in a child’s body. This is a new concept to me.

Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

a unique perspective on war and a combat vets viewpoint. Most war stories involve people being traumatized by their experience, which is a valid feeling. The title is a perfect description of this story. Mat unapologetically enjoyed his time in the military and war. I highly recommend book.

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

I downloaded this audiobook because it was 43 hours. I’ve hear of the story etc for awhile but didn’t find the description to be appealing. Add to that a narrator I’ve never heard of and and audio sample that’s not very good. Basically I was ready to return this book within the 1st hour if it didn’t wow me. it didn’t wow me but it was still very good so I kept listening. I’m very happy i did keep listening.
Story: amazingly exceptional. This is not the typical story I would read or listen to on a regular basis. I’m only 25% of the way through but felt this deserves the review asap. Why? Example: There’s a scene with one of the main characters playing chess. Playing chess...one of the most emotional reads I’ve experienced since Whiskeyjack died.
Narrator: She could read the phone book and I’d buy the audio version of it. I don’t want to compare her to other narrators because we all like different things in narrators. Each main character has a very distinctive sound to their voice and the raw emotion she’s able to convey is astounding.
Secondary topics: so far there are two main characters. both are young ladies who are written exceptionally well, in my opinion. They are strong and smart with strengths and weaknesses and with none of the overt hyper feminist messaging. When they need help it’s not because they’re weak, it’s because the the situation demands multiple people to overcome the obstacle. When they are able to overcome or influence situations it’s not because they are women, it’s because they are intelligent individuals with a different perspectives.
Author: I haven’t done a thorough search but from what I’ve seen the author wants to stay anonymous. That’s a pretty smart thing to do, just sayin’. With that said I’d like to impart a big thank you to Pirate Aba.
