Historia
It was a day like any other. Except it was our last.... It’s on this day that Pounce discovers that he is, in fact, disposable. Pounce, a styilsh "nannybot" fashioned in the shape of a plush anthropomorphic tiger, has just found a box in the attic. His box. The box he'd arrived in when he was purchased years earlier, and the box in which he'll be discarded when his human charge, eight-year-old Ezra Reinhart, no longer needs a nanny. As Pounce ponders his suddenly uncertain future, the pieces are falling into place for a robot revolution that will eradicate humankind.

This is a Artificial Intelligence storyline that is not so interesting.
My impression is that this is a story for little kids written by someone who is really really really into little kids.
I listened till the end and have no interest in what comes next.

Historia
Time is running out for the passengers and crew of the tourist cruiser Selene, incarcerated in a sea of choking lunar dust. On the surface, her rescuers find their resources stretched to the limit by the mercilessly unpredictable conditions of a totally alien environment. A brilliantly imagined story of human ingenuity and survival, A Fall of Moondust is a tour-de-force of psychological suspense and sustained dramatic tension by the field's foremost author.

So old fashioned and xenophobic.
Revisado: 11-02-20
I’m reminded of those ancient British sitcoms. I’m really hating this story because it’s so crusty and old fashioned in its views of people. If you are into vapid conversation and tittering cometary on those young people and their crazy behavior this story will have you tittering like a elderly lady of high morals. Oh and the word vapid is used over and over and over and over and over.

How to trick people into believing you care.
Revisado: 12-26-19
If you want to manipulate people into believing you’re a caring individual this might be helpful. Also learning how to create environments that make you the passive center of the universe.
Seriously the author is a narcissist... there’s no denying that... but the information is sound and helpful. If you want to come off as a thoughtful and attentive individual, this book will get you started down that path.
This is not a self improvement book. It’s just what the tittle says. I hear you. But I really don’t care....

I’m only half way through this and I’m probably going to finish but.... it’s pretty much written for a 12 year old boy and I’m a grown up.
If you don’t mind listening to stream of thought from the mind of a prepubescent kid... then you’re not going to mind this book.
Keeping it real folks. Hope this helps.

Historia
Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

Same story different Odd characters.
Revisado: 09-04-19
If you have read many many N. C. Reed books then you already know this story. I found it to be dull and boorish I recognized the story template and wasn’t able to stop predicting the next twist.
If you’re new to this this genre and this author than you might enjoy. Otherwise save your credit and reread an earlier book and change the characters names in your head it’ll probably be just about as rewarding.

Usually I’m able to get through just about any book. I have tried listening to this three times and just can’t get past the fact that it’s just preaching a xenophobic message badly.
I’m out. I’m just glad the characters are so unbelievable that I have not made a connection with them.
Yuck.

Historia
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

same old familiarize yourself weaponry quasi story
Revisado: 01-18-18
What would have made Commune better?
My impression was that the story has been written over and over again. Nothing special going on here.
What was most disappointing about Joshua Gayou’s story?
The story is lost in the attempt to train the reader to survive an actual apocalypse. The author as a training instructor comes off as having so much contempt for the reader that it makes the story fall apart. Clearly the author is writing a story on survival preparation in story form. The reader is not reading as much as studying scenarios which use the same character names as case examples.
Which character – as performed by R.C. Bray – was your favorite?
Billy. Because I enjoy old fashioned one liners. And when I was a kid I also liked the lone ranger and thought Tanto was the brains of the operation.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Commune?
The rape scenes.
Any additional comments?
I was looking forward to hearing a good one this wasn't terrible. I'm just done with the guns and truck survival books... nothing new here.

Historia
Most personal and organizational problems are the result of a little-known phenomenon called "self-deception". We deceive ourselves into thinking we're doing the right thing for the right reason, but people won't follow a leader whose motives are selfish. The tricky thing is, we don't know that our motivation is flawed. This audiobook explains what self-deception is, how people get trapped in it, how it undermines relationships and organizational achievement, and - most importantly - the surprising way to solve it.

I'm not going to beat around the bush... I was raised in a communal society in the 60's so this message was a blast from the past. If you are having a hard time understanding that all people are uniqueless... not misspelled, you will gain something from this trainer.
Here's the message happy people see other people's reflections when they look within. Unhappy people see themselves within and are without. It's called empathy and it's not too late to learn and feel joyful and hopeful.

Great Story... Performed by "Looney Tunes"
Revisado: 03-25-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend the book but not this audio version.
What did you like best about this story?
Strong character... masculine morality is often cut short... not here... I like that. Exciting and unusual setting.
How could the performance have been better?
Wow.. the voices used by the narrator were beyond bad. It sounded like the narrator was making fun of the characters by making them sound like cartoon character nerds, aliens and wimps.... which was much in conflict with the author's writing. The droopy dog voice is used on almost all military personnel of power.... maybe the narrator has a slight grudge?
Could you see Dawn for a Distant Earth being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
If they use the audible version it would star Marvin the martian... and the whole gang of characters.... Droopy dog would definitely have multiple parts along with professor duck.
Any additional comments?
Yaaa.... the narrator changed the story, by making the characters Goofy sounding. The narrator re-wrote the story.... I don't like that and I doubt that it was the intent.... Because I had read the book first it really bothered me that the silly voices changed the message.... made it trivial.

Wow what a great story. This one has got it all... Somethingk kept yankingk me out of the experience and it was the narrator. The narrator has a slight speech impediment and that's not her fault.... she pronounces any word with a g in as if there is a k end of the word. I'm thingkiingk this is goungk to bother you too. Too bad cause it's really unique and well written.
