I’ve listened to this entire series so far
Revisado: 04-19-25
I’ve liked to other narrators, but I really thought this one was terrible. I got used to her, but it was more than half the book before that happened. She just seemed… I don’t know, unsure, inexperienced maybe. It just didn’t flow well. Anyway, it was a really enjoyable story.

Really fun and interesting.
Revisado: 04-04-25
I’ve always wanted to be involved in a sort of scavenger hunt type thing, following clues and all. This kind of let me be a part of one and that was fun. Also, there is a lot about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the book. I realized I’d seen a couple of movies and knew the story, but I’d never read the book so I stopped this book somewhere in the middle and got a free copy from Audible and listened to it (it’s really good!) then came back to this book. I’m glad I did. It made the book richer and more interesting than it already was. I’d recommend reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde first. You’ll be happy you did.

Listening to the ACTUAL story
Revisado: 04-04-25
Everybody knows the story. It was written in 1886! And the first film version was in 1912! It has been remade over and over (there’s even an animated version for kids!) I was a little worried about listening to it thinking the older language might make it… well boring or sometimes hard to understand - not at all!! It’s wonderful!! Read it! There are even 3 free versions on Audible.

In need of a good adventure, Delaney Nichols takes the leap and moves to Edinburgh, Scotland, to start a job at The Cracked Spine. She doesn't know much about what she's gotten herself into other than that the work sounds exciting and that her new boss, Edwin MacAlister, has given her the opportunity of a lifetime.

It’s a fun little mystery and the narrator was great - could switch between male and female voice and the Scottish accent was really good. I really enjoyed this book.

I did enjoy the story.
Revisado: 03-13-25
Occasionally the narrator tried to do a slight Scottish accent, but it was like after a few words he got scared and quit. He was good at differentiating between a man’s voice and a woman’s - yet all the men sounded the same and all the women did too - all the women sounded about six years old. He was simply abysmal.

Historia
Though Han Solo has thrilled Star Wars fans for decades, the notorious wisecracking scoundrel was chasing adventure and dodging trouble long before he walked into the cantina at Mos Eisley spaceport. Young Han dreams of someday soaring into space at the helm of his own starship and leaving his home, the gritty industrial planet Corellia, far behind. But as long as he's trapped in a life of poverty and crime - and under the thumb of the sinister Lady Proxima and her brutal street gang - reaching the distant stars seems impossible.

I hated this book
Revisado: 01-20-25
It’s supposed to be a mystery. As far as I could tell the mystery was that one of the sisters died. This was seldom discussed, never resolved, and 99% of the time I forgot it was supposed to be a mystery! Unless I somehow missed a pivotal chapter, I have NO IDEA why this book has gotten the positive reviews that it has. It’s in my top five least enjoyed books from Audible and I’ve listened to hundreds. I say skip it!

The story is nearly identical and I wish they hadn’t changed all the names (particularly Alice) but it was really fun seeing it all from a different point of view.

Delightful, sweet, and gentle story
Revisado: 12-28-24
I liked it all. It was very hard when I got to the end because I didn’t want to leave the characters behind. That’s how I judge books , I think. Do I want to spend more time with these people or am I just ready to drive away? I am now going to see if the author has written anything else with Edward and Thea. Wish me luck!
