Historia
Vasilis "Billy" Kostopolos is a Bay Area Rust Belt refugee, a failed sci-fi writer, a successful barfly, and, since the exceptionally American zombie apocalypse, an accomplished "driller" of reanimated corpses. There aren't many sane, well-adjusted human beings left in San Francisco, but facing the end of the world, Billy's found his vocation trepanning the undead, peddling his one and only published short story, and drinking himself to death.

Garbage. I couldn't even get half way.
Revisado: 03-04-17
Pretentious blabbering with no real story and lame uninteresting main character. I'm not sure who this book is targeting but it's not horror fans. Skip it.

It's like sliders meets the notebook. Well written and enough action to balance the romance.

Well done. Whoever decided that you were the guy to keep Vince's vision alive made a good pick! Thanks for taking to time to write the book with Vince's voice and not making it wholly your own!

Historia
Sue Grafton's X: Perhaps her darkest and most chilling novel, it features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this sociopath. The test is whether Kinsey can prove her case against him before she becomes his next victim.

Historia
Gunslinging, chain-smoking, and Stetson-wearing Taoist psychopomp Elouise "Lou" Merriwether might not be a normal 19-year-old, but she's too busy keeping San Francisco safe from ghosts, shades, and geung si to care much about that. It's an important job, though most folks consider it downright spooky. Some have even accused Lou of being more comfortable with the dead than the living, and, well...they're not wrong.

Foul Mouthed, Chain Smoking, Rogue Ghost Hunter!
Revisado: 07-20-15
Where does Vermilion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've recently moved from detective novels to zombie and sci-fi books. Vermilion is a perfect blend of both! Great addition to my library!
What other book might you compare Vermilion to and why?
The Dresden Files are my most recent listens. Lou Merriwether reminds me of Harry Dresden if he was a foul mouthed, chain smoking, rogue ghost hunter!
Any additional comments?
The main character has attitude to the 9's, and the narrator has a great voice that is easy to listen to.

Historia
In Marbella, Spain, Dr. Kate Warner awakens to a horrifying reality: the human race stands on the brink of extinction. A pandemic unlike any before it has swept the globe. Nearly a billion people are dead--and those the Atlantis Plague doesn't kill, it transforms at the genetic level. A few rapidly evolve. The remainder devolve. As the world slips into chaos, radical solutions emerge. Industrialized nations offer a miracle drug, Orchid, which they mass produce and distribute to refugee camps around the world. But Orchid is merely a way to buy time. It treats the symptoms of the plague but never actually cures the disease.

I have listened to both books and it seemed the timeline movement is wore in this one than the first. Good story. Very hard to follow.
