Disappointed

This was a struggle to finish. It was a series that started off strong but then became a train wreck during the last book. From the blatant inspiration from the Hunger Games to how Cinder suddenly became a revolutionary war captain... I just kept rolling my eyes and thinking SURELY this must be over soon.
But now it is and I am glad to be moving on from this series.

A good story...

I had high expectations for this book as I had seen it on many reading lists the past month. However I was never excited to turn the book back on again. The story just didn't grab me the way I thought it would - it felt watered down and a bit bland. The great mystery of the murders and disappearances were a solid mystery for so long it felt frustrating and boring? And one big pet peeve was how words kept getting repeated three times over and over. I know this is because the character was drugged and out of it but it got so repetitive it made me cringe.
Not a terrible book, good narrator - just have read better.

It was rather eventless and boring. A recap on how everyone is doing and feeling and very little has changed. I also agree with the comments that the focus on Feyre and Rhysand becomes repetitive now after so many books and other characters should take the spotlight.

I think a 28 I am just too old for this book. It is probably much better for the 16-22 crowd, the main character was overly arrogant and obnoxious. The stories wound up being predictable most of the time, but they did have their moments.
I expected to enjoy this series and wanted to start at the beginning and move my way forward but I think I will just stop here and find something which isn't full of spoiled teen angst.

I have always loved Jodi Picoult's books but this one takes the crown. Beautiful, spiritual, thoughtful... and performed wonderfully by the narrators. I could barely stop listening.
