Historia
Most people know right from wrong; some refuse to accept facts and chooses danger and destruction instead, while others sit in fear and silence in hopes that things will get better. People lose courage because of fear and will do things out of the ordinary to protect themselves. The rule of law is significant because it protects people from the abuse of powers that be. It sanctions individuals with rights that cannot be taken-away without difficulty. Everyone is to be treated equally without discrimination.

Historia
For two centuries, the deep-seated fear that many White people feel—of losing power, of losing economic standing, of losing a particular “way of life”—has been the driving force behind American politics and culture. And as we approach a future where White people will become a racial minority in the US, something estimated to occur as early as 2043, that fear is only intensifying, festering, and becoming more visible. Are we destined for a violent clash? What can we do to step into our country’s inevitable future, without tearing ourselves apart in the process?

In life, there are some things you just can't make up. When I begin listening to this book, I had to go back several times to make sure I was actually hearing what was being said. When people put money over family and values they are setting themselves up for a disaster. It took lots of courage to write a book like this.

Ask the right questions.
Revisado: 09-01-18
In chapter six, asking the right questions. It's so important that every woman get down to the truth about a man before getting into a relationship with him. Steve did say, it’s rare that a man will lay out all of his baggage upfront. I like the way he laid out those 2 questions with the want to hear answers that most women fall for, that a man gives to make them-self look good. Most men play slick and give women what they want to hear. If a man really wants to be in a committed relationship with a woman, he wouldn’t hide anything. He would prove to her that she’s the one he really wants. I find that women, most of the times, become so anxious to be in a relationship with a man that she forgets to question him at all. Then at the end of the day, she’s able to answer all the questions herself from his actions.

What a fascinating story (memoir) of a typical, black family living in a library after hours. Enjoyable performance with the characters played out to the fullest. A girl by the name of Sharon Washington, who, has a great imagination and very creative. The phrase, "don't call to much attention to yourself" is true today in many African American homes!

Money does matter, but greed is wrong
Revisado: 07-19-18
This topic is so important in today's society. The story is well written but not a topic that's popular among many people. Money is good to have and it's needed for survival. But the love of money is what makes it evil. Greed is wrong. I like the authors approach as to how he handled his descriptions of greed, by using scriptures to prove his point. God does not want any of us to be poor, but to be good stewards over what we are given.
The sin is over indulging and becoming addicted. Anything that's worship and become first place in a person's life, takes the place of God. That's sin! Good narration!

Good Leaders are getting hard to find
Revisado: 07-18-18
In today's era, good leaders are getting hard to find. We find that leadership standards mean nothing to society. This book goes into details giving definitions for basic leadership skills.
Leadership skills are essential in creating an inspiring vision for others to follow.
Having real integrity ~ doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.
Prioritizing activities ~ making sure everything is set up on a timetable.
Using effective communication ~ a leader should say what is meant and mean what is said.
Showing etiquette ~ where good behavior separates intelligence from foolishness. It instills a sense of trust and dependability.
Listening ~ Leadership enforces listening, influencing and authorizing.
Leading with Consistency ~ actions speak louder than words. In Benjamin Franklin's great words, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn".
Making decisions ~ having the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
Accountability ~ starts at the top. With accountability, the blame game cannot be played.
Compassion ~ some of the greatest leaders are those who are calm, peaceful and kind to other people.
Transparency ~ is open, honest and direct communication.
To become an effective leader one has to be ready and prepared to take on the leadership role. Most skills can be learned.
These are the keys to acquiring effective leadership.
