Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

So different
Revisado: 01-11-23
Such a different way to tell a story… I had to listen till the end.
Heartbreaking and yet something drew me in to this family.
I’m glad I chose it.

Historia
Set on the Minnesota prairies in 1987, during a drought season that is fostering the demise of the family farms, the story features two intertwining narrators: a father searching for answers after his son commits a heinous murder, and a pastor's wife who has returned to the town for mysterious reasons of her own. A penetrating look at small-town America, reminiscent of Russell Banks' Sweet Hereafter or Affliction, driven by a powerful murder mystery, Little Wolves is a literary triumph.

Just ok

Love some of this authors work… but this one felt like she was baking while she was writing… there were times it just flat felt disconnected and like her attention was elsewhere besides the story…
Hoping for a better one next time!

Stay with it…you will not regret it!!
Revisado: 07-20-22
As an eyewitness to the events that happened in the valley of Glencoe in 1692, Corrag the (witch) was captivating. What a beautiful soul.
The author linked this story to real events and made history jump out before me in my mind. Historical and heartwarming I loved every single thing about this book.
The connection Corrag had to nature and the earth was so beautiful if brought me to tears.
The fact that independent women or anything out of the ordinary in our worlds early life were considered evil just astounds me in how far we’ve come.
The life changing perceptions of Charles Lindsey as he listens to Corrags story warmed me. Thank you to Susan Fletcher for such a beautifully written story and to Rosalyn Landor for taking my ears on such a journey.

Definitely the best of the 3
Revisado: 07-17-22
Wideacre was good.
The Favoured Child was dismal
Meridon redeemed the series!! The heroine in the 3rd and last of the series redeemed the other 2 women… She’s awesome!! The carnie type gypsie beginning was wonderful and the trip to London with the ton was good… but the end…. Fabulous!!!
I ended 60 hours of listening with a huge smile on my face!!!
Thank you!!

Julia get some backbone!!!!
Revisado: 07-12-22
My review… I talk about the book… so if you don’t want to know, don’t read my review!!
I really liked the first book Wideacre. Yes there was some perversion in there that was pretty disgusting… However I suppose weird stuff happens all the time in life. Regardless of how strange Beatrice relationship was with her brother… I loved her relationship with the land… That was obviously passed on to Julia… I just had a hard time with how Julia never had any grit or strength when she needed it… and then when she finally got backbone… It was too late. UGH
I truly wish Ralph had gotten rid of Richard much earlier in the book… I wanted Julia and James together so badly… I’m sure all your readers agree!!!
Very strange book however… I will read the last book in the series as I need closure 🤷🏻♀️ LOL
