This short story was recommended by some magazine so I was dubious but OMG what an incredible read. Take the time for this short story.

Historia
Felicia, Lizbeth Rose’s younger half-sister and student at the Grigori school within the capital of the New Holy Russian Empire in San Diego, is caught between secrets and powerful family struggles. As a distant relative to the Tsar, she provides an essential service to him by providing blood transfusions for his hemophilia, and she is thus given rare access and dismissed as if cattle. At the Grigori school she is seen as a charity case, a poor orphan with no prospects and no sign of magical prowess—the latter which Felicia keeps purposefully hidden.

Having trouble getting through
Revisado: 12-29-22
This book isn’t as compelling as the previous in the series. It’s from a different POV and I have so far not cared what’s going on. Half way through and I keep looking for something else to read…

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Four books in and still fresh
Revisado: 12-29-22
I’ve really loved the Bobverse and it’s good to see that four books into it the author still can make it fresh and fun. A blend of nerdy details with some very original ideas.

Historia
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

Historia
I used to work for the Telepath’s Guild before they kicked me out for a drug habit that wasn’t entirely my fault. Now I work for the cops, helping Homicide Detective Isabella Cherabino put killers behind bars. My ability to get inside the twisted minds of suspects makes me the best interrogator in the department. But the normals keep me on a short leash. When the Tech Wars ripped the world apart, the Guild stepped up to save it. But they had to get scary to do it - real scary.

Had a Dresden Hangover and this hit the spot
Revisado: 09-07-22
After having a long 6month re-listen to Butcher’s Dresden series I needed something just as good. This was suggested and I’m so glad it was because it’s just different enough but the same to transition me. I adored the world building and deep character development without a ton of exposition dumps. It takes real talent to write something like this. I’ve reread this book 5x now and enjoy the rest of the series just as much. Pick this up. You’ll enjoy it.

How do people read these and not listen?!
Revisado: 10-09-20
I have no idea how people read Dresden File books instead of listening to them. James Marsters May be the best reader I know. I 100% know that after listening to the entire Dresden series about 10x there is no other way to go. With Battle Ground he made a book that really should have been boring and often very page skip worthy with all the battles seeming exactly the same like watching an epic movie. This book is just as intense as Changes- maybe more so- I wish it had more plot and less battles but Dresden is back and I was very glad to have him after 5 years without anything new.

So much bloody crying
Revisado: 07-01-16
The story was ok but if I had to hear about anymore bloody crying I was going to kill myself. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Mariana Zapata book instead. I really wanted to like this one but there just wasn't any character development. Just a bunch of tears.

Revisado: 01-19-16
Any additional comments?
This is a turning point in the series. You can see where other story lines are being tied up and Mari is gaining new allies in preparation to be on those ramparts just as Alain saw in his foresight in book 1.
We are starting to learn more about Tae and what happened to that mighty nation as well as see Alain and Mari work separately. Most importantly we are seeing Mari give duties to others and become a leader.
Only two books left in the series which makes me sad, but both to come out this year which makes me happy. I really love this world, Alain and Mari. Campbell had a real knack for writing each character with a voice and reality that not many author can. And the narrator is fantastic!
