Another gem!
Revisado: 09-18-23
Loved this! Robb’s character development continues, and I am sad to finish each book, as I feel that I’m leaving friends behind. Susan Erickson is perfection as the narrator. What a team!!

He’s suffering from Alzheimer’s and needs special care. Sarah has started to show tell-tale signs of the disease too. She’s been experiencing blackouts and memory loss. Revisado: 11-26-22
I am an avid reader/listener to all things books—- this is the first review I have written—- I feel so very strongly about this that I need to share!
The story line is captivating and timely, the well-developed characters are believable and rich. I could not put this down—— seriously engrossing with a depth of plot to keep me guessing. I ***LOVED*** it! The actors were fantastic—- I cannot wait for book two!!

Brilliant!

10 stars!!
I love Louise Penny’s writing style, and the folks living in Three Pines feel like old friends. Small character details, introduced in previous books and added to here, enhance those feelings.
I didn’t want this book to end. The timeliness of the topics added to my enjoyment, and to see how the main individuals struggled with their own feelings was thoughtful and authentic. This book was enjoyable as a mystery, but also presented sensitive, complex topics in a way that encouraged me to think about them outside the context of the story.

Historia
Peacetime has brought little respite for Verity Kent. Intrigue still abounds, even within her own family. As a favor to her father, Verity agrees to visit his sister in Wiltshire. Her once prosperous aunt has fallen on difficult times and is considering selling their estate. But there are strange goings-on at the manor, including missing servants, possible heirloom forgeries, and suspicious rumors - all leading to the discovery of a dead body on the grounds. While Verity and her husband, Sidney, investigate this new mystery, they are also on the trail of an old adversary.
