Historia
The last 10 years has seen an explosion of interest in the concept of narcissism, both in clinical psychology and popular culture. How can we, as individuals, foster, and maintain our own, healthy sense-of-self in challenging relationships with a narcissist family member, friend, spouse, or colleague? How do we identify the narcissist individual in our relationships, take safe steps toward protecting ourselves, and move past the dynamics that keep us stuck and hurting?

Historia
Amy Alkon presents Unf*ckology, a "science-help" book that knocks the self-help genre on its unscientific ass. You can finally stop fear from being your boss and put an end to your lifelong social suckage. Have you spent your life shrinking from opportunities you were dying to seize but feel "that's just who I am"? Well, screw that! You actually can change, and it doesn't take exceptional intelligence or a therapist who's looking forward to finally buying Aruba after decades of listening to you yammer on.

Eye-opening
Revisado: 04-10-21
I myself am a licensed therapist since 2005. the author talks about many methodologies that I used successfully when I was treating patients. however, I believe that her viewpoints twists and changes to those methodologies make a lot of sense. I think the old and the new could be useful depending on the specific client. but as far as reading the book for myself. it was very eye-opening and information. I have had many turning points in my life that had taken me from a shy little child to a stronger teenager who only let certain people run all over her to another changing point where I got really strong and independent, to another changing point where after 24 years of marriage I realized I was slowly manipulated into becoming a door mat again and living my life in accordance to someone else's needs rather than my own. would that being said, the author offers tangible doable steps that a person can take to become whatever they want to be whatever version of themselves they want to be but stronger and more independent and definitely less of a doormat. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is ever gotten their feelings hurt so much that it changed their lives. and I recommend it for anyone who feels like they're not enough. great job to the author very impressed.

Eye opening 😳
Revisado: 04-07-21
purpose book unfortunately outlines the last 24 years of my life with my husband and raising our son and daughter. as hard as it is to learn the truth, I suppose it's the healthiest thing I can do for myself and the people I love. especially love that she provides logical and usable techniques to help you understand and be healthy while in a relationship with a narcissist. I am at the beginning of my journey of this knowledge, and I just pray that God continues to guide me towards resources like this. my sincere thanks to the author for her straightforward honest and useful information.
